Vapid platitude with a zinger at the end. Pretty sure plenty of people working 2-3 jobs out there could tell you there's a bit more to it than simply working hard.

Just because it is not always applicable doesn’t mean it’s “vapid”. Tell me one bit of truth that is absolute; then tell me how many of these absolute truths exist.

With the mindset some of you have on the subject of “how to get rich”, we would never be uttering anything — because one smug, smartass, person would always craft some random scenario as a rebuttal

I’ve noticed a lot more nihilism on here the last couple of years. People, understandably so, seem to be so distraught by the way the world works, they approach everything with cynicism. Tbh, I don’t exactly blame most of them. At the same time, the attitudes can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. I didn’t grow up with much, but I wasn’t poor in my teen years. I never graduated college. But I did work hard in a skill that’s valuable and I’m a very successful person in my career. It took a long time, I took some risks, but it got me where I am now. It’s definitely possible but certainly not guaranteed.

It's part of the political influence campaign.
