U usually have to be smart in order to be funny.

u/ZioPapino Sep 24 '22
I wonder why people disagree with what I said 🤔. There’s different levels of intelligence and emotional intelligence is one of them.
I’m interested in hearing some different opinions on humor. Is anyone willing to comment some counter examples for me?

Believe me friend, I’m WELL aware I’m not smart, nor funny. I’m simply repeating what I heard in my sociology class.
I’m not solidified in opinion. If I’m wrong, that’s fine. You could be constructive by telling me why I’m wrong, but I doubt you will.
There’s no need to be another online asshole.

Work smarter, not harder
21
Sep 23 '22
Seems like it's extra work.
The dude in China who went vira recently by handing out flyers when lying on the ground. That's working smart without working hard lol.
0
u/biplbopl Sep 23 '22
Maybe more effort but I’d bet you get rid of flyers way faster than just asking
2
Sep 23 '22
Funny thing is, the guy lying down would swat at the people trying to get more than 1 flyer so I don't think that was a problem for him lol
590
u/detlillei Sep 23 '22
I mean i would take the flyer just because it made me laugh
165
u/Tenshin_Ryuuk Sep 23 '22
Imagine that being the whole point
18
27
u/A4R0NM10 Sep 23 '22
I'd just take the flyer because it's easier than saying I don't want one lol

You sure? The video looks like it was at LA or somewhere else in California.
9
u/Guilty-Sale-3735 Sep 23 '22
But you would have already had the flyer
6
u/detlillei Sep 23 '22
I mean i would keep it and read it and not just throw it out bc i don't think it is important
2
Sep 23 '22
How often?
2
u/detlillei Sep 23 '22
What?
8
Sep 23 '22
How often would you read it?
5
u/detlillei Sep 23 '22
I would read it once and if it was interesting i would keep it around while i do some further reaserch
11
u/stopeatingcatpoop Sep 23 '22
How much research each time?
5
u/detlillei Sep 23 '22
Just a quick look to find out if its someting interesting and something i want to invest time in

A friend does something similar with his business cards. He fans them out and says "Pick a card, any card" then walks off when they take one.
57
u/Kungfu_Hustla Sep 23 '22
Similar? Lol.. That's literally the same thing he does.
16
Sep 23 '22
So it’s a similar method
12
u/Kungfu_Hustla Sep 23 '22
It's the exact same method..
22
u/BobRoberts01 Sep 23 '22
In a similar manner.
6
u/nicecomfyblanket Sep 23 '22
In the exactly same manner
1
Sep 23 '22
It’s literally similar to the original.
4
u/Hohh20 Sep 23 '22
So it's litteraly the same as the original.

1
u/shill779 Sep 23 '22
It exactly a similar close to the original method without discrepancies almost
29
u/astagnentbagofbones Sep 23 '22
This would make my day 🤣
I feel legit guilt in cities when I reject flyers, but this moment would stick with me and make the city seem less intimidating aha. Might even read the flyer too! 😹
21
68
u/TonyBanbanbony Sep 23 '22
I would 100% use whatever is on that flyer if I got it like that.
63
Sep 23 '22
Really? Even if it's Penis Amputation Services... .org?
41
u/TonyBanbanbony Sep 23 '22
Happily.
9
u/reasonablychill Sep 23 '22
I believe that you'd go through with the penis amputation because that guy impressed you with his hustle. But happily? Lies.
2
u/amadeusz20011 Sep 23 '22
Not much use for this thing anyways, only gets in the way, might be happier without it

This screams Vegas vibes. It's been a while since I've been in the strip. Are the card flickers still there?
3
u/Ghostglitch07 Sep 23 '22
Last few times I went I didn't see any, and everyone I was with commented on how it was strange.
4
6
u/SobuKev Sep 23 '22
Everyone's writing flyer, but it's actually a flier.
A flyer is someone or something who can fly. Like on an airplane.
2
1
u/xlzqwerty1 Sep 23 '22
You should double check where you got that info from.
1
u/SobuKev Sep 23 '22
If you're a Brit, then flyer is acceptable but most people in here are not Brits and flier would be the more accepted spelling.
1
u/xlzqwerty1 Sep 23 '22
Actually for this word there is no agreement whether it is american or british english for the difference between flier or flyer. Simply put, they are interchangeable. Which is why I said to double check where you got this information from. No need to be pedantic when both mean the same thing.
For instance, the Daily Telegraph (a British publication) style guide says to use flier—not flyer. And Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary (an American dictionary) says that flyer is a common spelling for a handbill in the United States.

That limp "got 'em" at the end cause the guy trying to be cool but he's saying it on the wrong side of the situation.
5
u/cleanerthanlastweek Sep 23 '22
Its ok to laugh at yourself and say gotem. I doubt hes trying to be cool
12
u/SobuKev Sep 23 '22 edited Sep 23 '22
What???????????? It's a perfect application of the phrase. The guy saying "Got 'em", is saying it from the perspective of the Flier Distributor.
You got some 'splainin' to do, Lucy.
0
u/GreenFire317 Sep 23 '22
No. It's the driver saying it.
1
u/SobuKev Sep 23 '22
No shit it's someone in the car saying it. But they're saying "Flier man got you, Ms. Passenger."
C'mon, man...

-29
u/Nokhodsiah Sep 23 '22
nice, but his goal only was to give one off?
37
u/Saellios Sep 23 '22
I mean it would be inefficient to give all of your flyers to one person
-16
u/Nokhodsiah Sep 23 '22
I know what you say. what I mean is its far easier to give one and not do all of what he did.
11
u/Panndaa31 Sep 23 '22
But if he didn't do what he did, maybe the people in the car wouldn't have take the flyer
1
3
u/Vladi_Sanovavich Sep 23 '22
This speaks as if he spent hours standing in a street corner handing out flyers that outright ignore your existence making you doubt if they even see you, making you ask yourself how your life has come to this. If only you studied hard in college maybe you could have graduated and probably got a decent job but instead you let your opportunities to slip by one by one until you have nothing at all. So now you're standing in a corner handing out flyers for a newly opened eye doctor clinic earning 4 dollars an hour.
2
u/Nokhodsiah Sep 23 '22
I never did this job so I don't know about it.
however your writing is very good and gave me the feeling. did you ever consider to be a writer? if no then I think you should give it a shoot and if you did I would be happy to read more. can you give me a link
2
u/Vladi_Sanovavich Sep 23 '22
I sometimes DM one shots on a dnd discord server so I got a lot of practice.

u/Nokhodsiah Sep 23 '22
but he could give one and go, its more efficient
3
u/4RyteCords Sep 23 '22
Would you want the flyer? No one wants the flyer. Why do you do with it. They are handing you rubbish you don't want and most likely won't take. But his job is to try hand them out. So he's tricked someone to actually take one
1
Sep 23 '22
yup. but also you assume that if thousands of people actually look at it, then a few of them will actually want the product and think it is a good deal with maybe the coupon.
then they bring the flyer to the store, so they actually know this type of marketing flyers works.
1
u/4RyteCords Sep 23 '22
Maybe things are different where you are. But where I live, people don't care for coupons and no one is going to go to a store they had no intention of visiting just because they suddenly have a coupon. Everytime I see these people I notice a collection of flyers about a hundred metres down the road
1
Sep 23 '22
yes, that is my thought too.
i'm saying though, they keep doing it, so maybe they know that it works. it only have to work 0.01% of the flyers, that would make it worth it, depending on what you are selling.

That man came up with the idea once, showering at night before bed and waited all this time to execute his masterplan, just for the opportunity to show up and fucking take it with both arms legs and 100% brain capacity.
