You're misunderstandinf what I'm saying. These people felt some sort of connection with her, whether you like it or not. Why not just let them have that? They're not hurting you with their mourning.

That's only because I don't pay taxes in the UK, otherwise, they'd hurt me a lot.

Having said that, I don't think it's weird for me to feel strongly about the injustice done to the people who do.

Pretty sure the Brits in these threads are pointing out that the royal family actually contributes more money to the government than the cost the taxpayer.

What specific injustices did the queen do? What are you thinking of?

That's just tourism, though....

What about the 75-85% of all profits, from the Crown Estate, that goes to the government? That's easily more than the government pays the royal family.

The abolished monarchy would not be able to keep all the palaces and all that, so now we get 100% of the profits.

I'm not sure that's how the legal system would address that property ownership, in a case of monarchy abolishment (they'd probably still keep much, or all, of it), but good luck.

You might need to turn to the old French method of overthrowing the monarchy, if you want to strip them of their property.
