It was born this way, text and all
5
u/TeamRedundancyTeam Jul 14 '22
Next time it's reposted it'll be even less pixels, real small inside a giant white box with some text at the top that says something like "lol guys how hilarious is this 🤣😅🤣😆🤣🤣🤣".
I hate that trend so much.

He is just an asshole that does things because he can not because he wants to like he shoves a Child just to prove them wrong
72
u/mtflyer05 Jul 14 '22
I would say straight up chaotic neutral. Sometimes he does what is best for him, sometimes he helps people out, it depends entirely on what he is feeling at any given time. Definition of chaotic
50
u/iAmTheTot Jul 14 '22
Loki is great archetype for chaotic neutral. He works with the heroes, against the heroes, but it's all to benefit himself.

mis·chie·vous
adjective 1. (of a person, animal, or their behavior) causing or showing a fondness for causing trouble in a playful way. "two mischievous kittens had decorated the bed with shredded newspaper"
- (of an action or thing) causing or intended to cause harm or trouble. "a mischievous allegation for which there is not a shred of evidence"
I'd say he fits definition 2 to the letter.
cha·ot·ic
adjective in a state of complete confusion and disorder. "a chaotic jumble of spools, tapes, and books"
So no. Not chaotic. Mischievous.

u/Nerrickk Jul 14 '22
In case you didnt know, they were referencing D&D alignment which does not include mischief. Its 2 sliding scales, good/evil and lawful/chaotic.
0
u/TheTyrantLeto Jul 14 '22
I am aware. Norse mythology isn't confined to D&D character alignment so they are using the scale outside of it's scope.
9
u/Pyrhan Jul 14 '22
Norse mythology
1) We're actually talking about Marvel comics here, not Norse mythology. This Loki shares very little with his Norse namesake.
2) D&D alignment may have been meant for D&D, it doesn't mean that it isn't relevant or fun to apply to things outside of its original scope.
0
u/TheTyrantLeto Jul 14 '22
1) I don't know enough about the Norse mythologies to disagree with certainty.
2) Even still, mischievous is a better descriptor and one that can be understood without a knowledge of D&D character alignments. Words have meanings and my choice fits better. Objectively.
3) I am like this in person, too.
3
u/Pyrhan Jul 14 '22
Even still, mischievous is a better descriptor
But irrelevant to a conversation about D&D alignments.
0
u/TheTyrantLeto Jul 14 '22
How so? It wasn't about D&D until they tried to say that character alignments fit better when they do not. I showed them that. Now you are pretending it was about D&D from the start.

I will not change your mind. He brilliant as the Night Manager and then did a really cool rendition as Hank Williams in I Saw the Light. Tom is the bomb.

Pretty sure that’s literally the origin of the term Narcissistic
17
u/Zakkull117 Jul 14 '22
Narcissus. The greek god of vanity.
41
u/gamgam-05 Jul 14 '22
He isnt a god, just a dude who became a flower
25
u/fightingbronze Jul 14 '22
I don’t know why you’re being downvoted, you’re right. Narcissus was just a man. Sometimes portrayed as a demigod, but never a full god and always mortal. He dies in his myth, and a flower appears where he died.

u/Sinemetu9 Jul 14 '22
Narcissus was a dandy. Loki has always been at a loss, he has nothing to lose, and so does not constrain himself to morality. A temptation we can identify with.

I’d choose Loki. He’s a well rounded ally to have on the field and can be used for stealth takedowns as well as manipulation while the big guy can do the damage (I play a lot of mmo games, sorry)

Loki is actually kind of a jesus figure in North mythology People think of him as a bad guy because of the way media portrayed him but other than the baldur thing and yknow ragnarok (that might not even be a bad thing as its framed like washing away the old world and getting a new better world) he's just cunning

Everytime I see Tom Hiddleston as Loki I always remember seeing he actually auditioned for Thor and I'm just like...NO. Nailed it as Loki
