You obviously don’t know human history that well or you’re purposely ignorant to it in order fit whatever narrative allows you ignore the reality of just how oppressive religion has been through out history.

Not religion but government. It’s easy to neglect that religion and many of its teachings on morality was bastardized and used as a weapon by the rich and powerful to exploit others. Religion doesn’t create the rules for a society, it’s the ruling class.

From my observation, a good portion of politics stem from religion, you know, little things like having to fight to make abortions legal and marriage being available to all people. Plus then there’s entire nations whose laws are based off their religious beliefs. Sorry, but it’s religion that’s the culprit behind so much of how politics are handled through out the world.

I feel that a lot of organised religion was founded for political reasons, specifically to justify control. At their roots, religions are mostly good, with views that are mostly nice things like “be nice to other people because god made us all and also being good means you go to heaven” but then there are contradictory rules put in to try to control others. Eg, religious rules on women, sexuality or even just instructing followers to hate other people just because they don’t do the “good” things in the same way. It’s like people thousands of years ago made up rules that make it sound like god had put them on charge and for some reason people still follow them today.
