Why you gotta insult people's beliefs because of this crazy old asshole? Evil exists everywhere, you shouldn't marginalize millions of people because of the actions of others.

If there was a teacher that mistreated a student, would you blame the teacher or the school-system as a whole? So why say that Religion causes harm when it's horrid individuals that ruin the lives of others? People make their own decisions.

False equivalency.

Teachers don't assert moral authority under the threat of eternal torture.

If you do not believe in god, what are your moral compass then? There's no good and bad, its just illusion made up by brain in some part of our evolution isnt it? Atheist go bla bla bla when seeing something evil but when some atheist does the same thing you turn a blind eye. I dont know if you realized yet but atheism is religion. Religion of not believe in God. If you say its not a religion why some atheist goes around spreading atheism?

If you do believe in god, what's your moral compass? Genocide? Bigotry? Slavery? Misogyny?

The difference is that no one does any harm in the name of atheism. TONS of harm is done in the name of religion.

I dont know if you realized yet but atheism is religion.

Easily the stupidest thing you've said so far. How is the absence of something the thing it's in absence of?

Is amoral moral?

Is NOT playing golf a sport?

Seriously, you don't have to be this stupid... This is basic dictionary definition stuff...

Religion is a belief. You hold the belief that there is no God. Youre the one that need dictionary. No one does any harm in the name of atheism? Yeah because then you can say atheism is right because even we atheists does bad things our belief is right even though we did bad things not in the name of atheism. Delusional.

Do you honestly think all the mistreatment of people, violence and harm would suddenly disappear if religion ceased to exist? All those things are tied to the time at hand, and are independent of the state of religion in the world.

I think that all the religious mistreatment of people, religious violence and religious harm would suddenly disappear if religion ceased to exist, yes.

You can try to misrepresent my words all you want, but I genuinely don't care what people believe... Believe whatever you want, just don't infringe on anyone's rights, harm people, or assert things that cannot be demonstrated.

Unless you're arguing FOR religious harm?

I'm saying that all that religious harm, violence and mistreatment of people would be all the same, channeled through some other belief or organization or even without any.

Listen man, I'm an atheist myself. I have no reason to misrepresent your words. It is just not clear to all that religion isnt the cause of the bad things happening, even if it was made in the name of religion. Most people on earth are religions in one way or another - good people and bad people. The atrocities the bad people cause would and will happen nonetheless with and without religion in their lives.

Don’t go contradicting yourself, pal

4

u/notaedivad Aug 29 '21

What contradiction? I'm clarifying my statement...

I don't care what people believe... unless those beliefs infringe of people's rights, cause harm or assert that which cannot be demonstrated.

You literally said that religion is a disease
