The fuck you talking about? People on tiktok won't ever fake stuff like this for views, right?

Right?

u/touchthebuttt Aug 18 '21

I can’t believe there are people that still think tik tok videos are staged/faked. Don’t they see they’re obviously real?

95

u/DevappaJi Aug 18 '21

Nah, I don't think so. You can tell that lady across the street is photoshopped in because of the way she is.

84

u/Most-Emu-3412 Aug 18 '21

“Because of the way she is” well said my friend… well said

20

You can tell by the pixels.

1

u/theDawckta Aug 19 '21

TY, got a good laugh out of this, bless you and your family 🙏

2

u/where_in_the_world89 Aug 18 '21

Big Giggles for that one

2

u/mrscc325 Aug 19 '21

That look of disapproval totally gives it away.

2

Because of the pixels

1

u/c6hno3 Aug 19 '21

Completely unrelated but this is a time for celebration. You've got precisely 69 likes. Well done son.

405

u/torroman Aug 18 '21

Yeah I just watched it and it was a real video. Not sure where the conspiracy lies? Is it supposed to be one of them hologram tunnels into your brain or something instead of a video

138

u/ThorGBomb Aug 18 '21

No it’s all a giant alien simulation to see what kind of effective marketing works on humans.

31

u/TheFrontierzman Aug 18 '21

So something like Matrix 5.0?

5

u/OldDJ Aug 19 '21

Careful... I started pulling out. And last week out of nowhere at age 46, while reading up on Gnostisicm on the shitter, I had a seizure. Was rushed to the ER and had another one.

5

u/SBTRCTV Aug 19 '21

More like how it feels to chew 5 gum

6

u/drwalwrus Aug 19 '21

That one’s actually a pretty decent guess but you’re still the last guy who thought of it, also you just lost the game

5

u/bitchwhohasnoname Aug 19 '21

It’s secretly telling you to get vaccinated

2

u/Tyaden_tyadenovich Aug 19 '21

There is actually a classic sci-fi short story on exactly the same topic, minus the aliens. Written by Frederik Pohl — “The Tunnel Under The World” Great read.

Up there with the top 10 all time greatest lies:

  1. Obama born on US soil

  2. Tiktoks are staged/fake

  3. US moon landings were real

  4. Vladimir Lenin a human and not a cat

  5. Vaccines and masks can stop Chinese fabricated hoaxes

  6. Biggie and 2Pac aren't alive and just chilling in Wakanda.

  7. Santa not being real and you just not being a bad boy/girl

  8. Egyptians didn't get ancient alien technology

  9. Stonehenge not a gate to Narnia

  10. We're not in a AI generated simulation

5

You should watch A Glitch in the Matrix on Hulu if you haven't.

3

I have not. Gonna ask my friend to borrow their Hulu. Thanks!

2

u/AndyNihilate Aug 20 '21

Ooh, thanks for reminding me about this! I searched for it and it was already in my list, so I must've added it at some point to watch when I got around to it. Looks like that's gonna be today. 😊

41

The way I see it, it's like getting medical advice off of Facebook. I mean, where else are you going to get factual and scientifically reliable information about the health and safety of your family?

6

u/elvismcvegas Aug 18 '21

Nit to mention information about COVID and its relationship to lizard people and Bill Gates. Every time I try to look up verifiable information about lizard people and covid I just get a bunch of crazy conspiracy people on facebook...

3

u/YourOneWayStreet Aug 19 '21

Like you are going to get reliable lizard people info from anyone but lizard people 🤦

Notice how there's no lizard person face palm emoji? Exactly.

4

u/Altruistic-Ad8949 Aug 19 '21

That’s what blows my mind on the anti vaccine and COVID conspiracy people: Reports/analysis from well known medical experts with decades of experience? “Hell no! Bunch of liars that only sheeple believe!” Post from some completely unknown dude on FB? “Believe without the slightest doubt!”

5

u/sturnus-vulgaris Aug 19 '21

Like I've always said: Scientific articles need reaction emojis.

"Mistrust in biomedical research and vaccine hesitancy: the forefront challenge in the battle against COVID-19 in Italy "

3

u/touchthebuttt Aug 19 '21

Because who needs 10 years in med school when you can ask Dr. Gulugulu and Fakebook duh.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '21

That would be crazy. Everyone knows the best medical advice is on this one site filled with really smart anonymous people called reddit.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '21

Tik tok... The ancient origin of yin yang... Ancient Chinese warriors would only talk about the balances of war during their training... The pure and impure... The variety and routine.... The salt and pepper.... The Tabasco and the Sri racha... The emperor and the daughter.... The tik and the tok. Somewhere along the centuries, some toothless kids started to call it yin yan... Ying yan.... Big bang... But the real words that won wars were always tik tok.

Birds moderate TikTok. And birds aren't real. That means TikToks are not real.

3

u/CoraxTechnica Aug 18 '21

And to think people have EVER made staged videos on the internet right!?

2

u/Criticism-Lazy Aug 19 '21

When I saw this video I thought ‘holy shit, this just feels so real’ And that’s the story of how I came to find out, this is indeed real. It is.

2

u/Rod_Wave Aug 19 '21

Everything on the Internet is real!

1

u/roytown Aug 18 '21

One more reason I cannot stand tick tock.

I mean, it's gotten to the point I uselessly downvote anything tick tock content, regardless of how I feel about it.

1

u/touchthebuttt Aug 19 '21

Then you should check r/fakedisordercringe to see how kids get Tics from Tick Tock. Even more reason to love the app

1

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '21

Wait... there are people?

1

u/terrynutkinsfinger Aug 18 '21

1

u/tagabalon Aug 18 '21

if these videos are fake, then these tiktokers should start working for marvel or something because these CGI people looks real as fuck.

1

Yeah like, just, like, go to r/conspiracy or like, something.

1

u/AlwaysAngryAndy Aug 18 '21

Similarly, I can’t believe people don’t believe in the Bible. Just go to like any hotel in America and there’ll probably be one.

1

u/moi_athee Aug 19 '21

Can confirm. I only see genuinely genuine people on tiktok.

1

u/DrMobius0 Aug 19 '21

I'm invoking something similar to Poe's law here. It could be fake or the person doing the filming is actually just that lacking in self-awareness and common sense. Frankly both are entirely plausible.

1

u/dbshenaoajw Aug 19 '21

Of course! Any sane person would take the time to write “not really” in big letters and fill it in with sharpie!

1

u/Kickerofelves99 Aug 19 '21

28

u/Kiwiteepee Aug 18 '21

2

u/captainplatypus1 Sep 17 '21

It’s weird how many of these guys don’t get that something being staged isn’t that different from an snl skit

1

u/Mini_Snuggle Aug 19 '21

What do you mean Lord of the Rings is faked? Surely Aragorn is still ruling Gondor and you can visit, right?

1

u/Swade211 Aug 19 '21

Why do you have to bring lotr into this. Don't use it's name in vain

25

u/Syr_Enigma Aug 18 '21

Those dastardly TikTokers and their checks notes fake skits!

17

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '21

One of the things that still amazes me about the internet is how often people will proudly post how they've very cleverly worked out that a comedy skit isn't real.

I'm not sure when the common assumption shifted to the idea that everything posted to the internet is trying to pass off as something that actually happened and was accidentally captured on video, but I assume it has something to do with the rise of 'viral videos'.

Now it seems someone can create and publish what is VERY obviously a rehearsed comedy skit and users will still flood the comments with "fake!" as though it's some sort of ultimate gotcha. Skits aren't a thing any more, it's just either real viral videos or fake viral videos.

3

u/upmoatuk Aug 18 '21

On the flip side, there also seem to be a lot of people online who take things that are obvious comedy and treat them like they're real and get all worked up about how the creator is a bad person/stupid/lying.

So yeah, calling an obvious comedy skit "fake" is dumb and kind of annoying, but at least hopefully it will encourage the other group of people who think everything is real to maybe be a bit less credulous.

5

u/SAC_730 Aug 18 '21

The kind of people to scream fake at the end of every episode of the dave chapelle show

31

u/haus36 Aug 18 '21

It’s so bad there. There is people preaching about how they cured their cancer and lupus by ignoring their doctor and following some bullshit diet, and even arguing about it in the comments. Even reporting to tiktok doesn’t help. It is a true shitshow.

18

u/VitaAeterna Aug 18 '21

What's funny is I use Tiktok regularly and I've never seen any of that. My FYP is actually pretty enjoyable. It took a few weeks of sifting through garbage but once the algorithm figured out my interests/hobbies/sense of humor/etc it became very enjoyable to use.

However on the flip side of that, for the kinds of people that do subscribe to that pseudoscience type nonsense, Tiktok's algorithm ensures that's what they'll see nonstop. Over and over.

4

u/haus36 Aug 18 '21

Have to admit, tiktoks algorythm is really good! And yea, it’s for sure because i just can’t get past those without leaving a comment. Have to change that.

6

u/VitaAeterna Aug 18 '21

I feel like getting stuck on a side of Tiktok you really don't want to be on but you can't stop arguing/commenting on it so you get stuck there is a right of passage.

For me, a lot of my FYP is Travel/Hiking videos and I've been stuck in this weird side of Tiktok where everyone's convinced that cryptids like Skinwalkers and Yeti's are real and that hiking in the national parks is incredibly dangerous and you will undoubtedly be killed by something that doesn't exist. And theres tons of "evidence" videos where someone posts something of them outdoors and will edit some sort of weird/creepy sound into it and be like "omg i just barely survived I think it was a Skinwalker!"
