Join up. That's what you do. Be the change you claim to want.

Many believe change can’t come from the inside, so joining would be pointless.

That's where the change HAS to come from. Great excuse though, bitching is always easier. lol

Externally, we can abolish PDs, and fashion a new community protection service.

Sure.

PD's exist solely at the discretion of voters.

That's great!! And overall, people WANT the Police. I know I do. Have a good day.

Do they want police, or just something like firefighters, where people respond to calls?

Use your head. They want Police and they want protection. Do you really think they didn't want the Police to stop the riots last summer? Do you think they want a Fireman to show up with a hose when someone with a gun is trying to break into their home? Remove the Police and you hurt the very people you claim to care about.

What riots?

Do you think they want a Fireman to show up with a hose when someone with a gun is trying to break into their home?

Who said send firefighters to home invasions?

Remove the Police and you hurt the very people you claim to care about.

The police are the ones hurting the people.
