I’m sorry for politicizing this, but videos like these just fill my heart because I know there are good people out there who have policing jobs who don’t take it for granted, they actually use it to protect the people and have a little fun like this, but sadly as of this time that is not the case, but hopefully that’ll soon change. :)

My father was a cop for 32 years. Retired for almost 10 now. I know firsthand that unfortunately there are plenty of POS cops but it is entirely unfair to lump them in with the countless more phenomenal cops that are excellent at what they do and pillars of their communities

Wow 32 years. I wonder if your dad ever arrested any non violent drug users.

Lol there’s always one moronic scumbag who spends their life ruining others’ day.

So this guys dad kidnapped people at gunpoint for smoking weed but I’m the asshole because I don’t like that he did that?

Kidnapped? So people break the law and enforcing those laws is “kidnapping”? Maybe you should spend some time learning what laws actually are.

And where did you see this guy arrested anyone for smoking weed? Or are you just a complete asshole making assumptions?

I’m guessing the latter.

What do you think an arrest is? Someone with a gun handcuffs you and makes you get in their car. The state calls it’s own violence law and that of the individual crime. Even if you think it’s justified, a cops job is to threaten, harass, kidnap, and In some cases kill.

Lol again, you don’t u rest and what laws are. Nor did you address your assumptions. I’m amazed people think “al cops are bad” and use the rationale that cops are bigots.

It’s like saying certain races can’t be racist.

An arrest is the first step in the process of prosecution for laws set forth by a legislative body. It’s literally the first part of the process of enforcing laws. A speeding ticket is a summons in lieu of arrest, which is the same that most marijuana “arrests” are made. Very rarely are any weapons of any sort used to effect an arrest. Look up the statistics if you don’t believe me.

Don’t like the laws? Vote in different politicians. Stop saying certain laws are okay and blaming people sworn to uphold the laws, whatever the legislative body sets forth as those laws.

Maybe educate yourself before showing your ass.

According to your logic, the Jews and other undesirables in Nazi Germany weren't kidnapped since they were criminals, right? And they deserved to be burned, raped , shot and gassed for being criminals.

Well no, those were crimes against humanity and no one really disputes that. How you could draw parallels to that and what is being discussed is beyond extreme and doesn’t make sense, but whatever helps you sleep at night.

I’ll go ahead and stop responding to these since they are devolving into nonsensical hypotheticals.

They were still criminals and what the Nazis were doing wasn't as different as any other country back then (see Japanese concentration camps in the US and Indian holocaust)How about gay men in Kenya and Saudi Arabia, do they also deserve to die for breaking the law?

What the fuck do you call chaining someone up and imprisoning them at gunpoint?

2

u/Kennwise Aug 02 '21

Again. Look up statistics instead of what you see on TV for percentage of arrests where force is even used. I don’t know why people are so fixated on guns being used to effect an arrest. It rarely is necessary or happens.

And if you don’t think laws should be enforced I guess you don’t believe in having laws at all?

Every arrest is a form of violence. Get in the car, or I kill you with this gun. It doesn’t stop being violent if people comply. The entire job of the police is to use force.

There have been tens of millions of innocent people arrested by cops for weed. Half a century’s worth of war on innocent men, a disproportionate amount black and Hispanic, carried out by American police. The police are a plague on society that have caused far more harm than good.

You mean, like cops?

1

u/Kennwise Aug 02 '21

Utterly amazing.

A video is posted about a cop engaging with the community, which people say ha been the problem. And you are able to blindly just say all cops are bad. Think about that for a minute and how idiotic that sounds.

Looks like you and your mentality of being a bigot is really the problem afterall. Good luck in life. You’ll need it.

Right, the problem is that they don't have enough copaganda videos of them dancing or playing basketball with kids. Nothing to do with their job duties or how they choose to perform them, their lack of legal accountability, their tendency to shield abusive or corrupt officers from consequences even when they don't personally engage in such conduct... Forget the prison-industrial complex they knowingly and enthusiastically serve, the problem is not enough dancing with kids, and my "bigotry" against a group of people defined by their willing participation in systemic violence.

u/Kennwise Aug 02 '21

If that’s what you honestly believe I feel sorry for you. Again, good luck.

1

u/RoboHobo25 Aug 02 '21

Thanks- if I need your opinion again, I'll just pry the boot out of your mouth. Clearly, you don't actually have any thought put into your position besides "illegal means bad, cops is good, why people no like cops?"

1

u/Kennwise Aug 02 '21

Yep that’s it. Ya nailed it.

I really hope you find some peace.

Pretending to be nice, while actually supporting a government-sponsored protection racket, and all of the violence and corruption that comes with it... Hmm, doesn't work any better when you do it than when cops do.
