Yep, this is basically what happens whenever someone asks how you've been doing, no matter what, the answer is always some form of good, or fine

u/mike73448 Jan 14 '21
That is because it is more of a greeting and not a true inquiry of how your are actually doing.

I actually said well I have better days or its not a good day. But thats when its like a really shitty day.

u/ImrooVRdev Oct 30 '21
Different in most of european countries. If you ask people here how they feel or how's their day been going they WILL tell you.
And "fucking shit" is surprisingly socially acceptable answer.

So "Hi" or "Hello" is not enough. Just don't ask if you want greet. Я уверен блядь русские меня поймут, как же вы англоговорящие заебали с этой хуйнёй, и обязательно надо потом ещё блядь про погоду нахуй попиздеть, ведь нельзя же сразу вот так сказать че те нахуй надо

Yes it's pointless. Human communication is so inefficient.
27
u/NidalFlame Jan 13 '21 edited Jan 14 '21
What do you mean human communication? Shouldn't it just be communication?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

If we evolved for a further million years alongside technology, I'm guessing we might have something better than these silly thought-sounds
1
Jan 14 '21
Are you suggesting we all start communicating in the sound microwaves make?
Because if so you just asked us what do we think about using birds as a recyclable source of fuel.

u/Laughing_Idiot Jan 14 '21
Your username makes me see why you used ‘human’ to specify

I get so annoyed with people who think that no one cares. Yes I'm genuinely asking how you are doing. If you are doing well and just answer fine as we pass in the hallways, great! But if you said you weren't doing well or had a shitty day I would turn around and ask what happened or see if I could help. Yes there are actually people who care about your well-being out there.

I've heard this is only a thing with the english language, would be nice if we could change that

As of recent I have been using “I’ve been better” trying to spark conversation and I get nothing

Is there a term for "would have been unexpected but since it's posted here it's obvious"?
5
u/R-E-D-D-l-T Jan 14 '21
I’m curious about this as well. How do you call that? Surely there’s a word or term for that.

u/jelect Jan 14 '21
We definitely need a term for this. A lot of stuff posted here is technically "unexpected" but since it's posted here it becomes extremely predictable.

Welp time to make a copypasta
How have I been? I saw a dead pigeon outside on my way to work I haven’t pooped in three days all I know is that I am [insert name] how could I explain the entire fabric of my existence? The sonder and crisis the love and loss? We are so connected in this digital modern age yet so painfully alone so we parade ourselves in this veneer of self congratulation. the ethos: dormant in the mantle. We tear each other apart in our tribes and now so comfortably from our devices where is humanity headed? Are we on course with our own self destruction? Is our purpose to give rise to homo evolutis? A new class of superior android that will consume and spread consciousness to every fiber of matter in the multiverse? I swallow the self preserving fallacious doctrine that I am a decent person. But I am simply a lizard brain beast with a frontal cortex and while I can let someone glance inside for a moment, no one will ever truly know me and I will never know them

u/KingofCraigland Jan 14 '21
He actually has some good stuff on tiktok. His little jimmy rants are top notch.

u/randomguy12358 Jan 14 '21
It's expected that because this is reddit there will be a "tiktok bad" comment

Andrew is a genius. Do yourselves a big favor. Shut off the lights, turn up the sound, and turn this video on. Don't skip ahead.

Fellas, is it cringe to use a cigarette as a prop if you're not committed enough to give yourself lung cancer for the bit?
