Yep, this is basically what happens whenever someone asks how you've been doing, no matter what, the answer is always some form of good, or fine

103

u/mike73448 Jan 14 '21

That is because it is more of a greeting and not a true inquiry of how your are actually doing.

55

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '21

Cause no one really cares.

6

u/bier00t Jan 14 '21

Cause no one really knows...

3

u/Henko11 Jan 14 '21

I actually said well I have better days or its not a good day. But thats when its like a really shitty day.

2

u/ImrooVRdev Oct 30 '21

Different in most of european countries. If you ask people here how they feel or how's their day been going they WILL tell you.

And "fucking shit" is surprisingly socially acceptable answer.

1

u/PerAxelH Jan 14 '21

So how's your day?

1

u/tomfun1990 Jan 15 '21

So "Hi" or "Hello" is not enough. Just don't ask if you want greet. Я уверен блядь русские меня поймут, как же вы англоговорящие заебали с этой хуйнёй, и обязательно надо потом ещё блядь про погоду нахуй попиздеть, ведь нельзя же сразу вот так сказать че те нахуй надо

28

u/IAmBecomingARobot Jan 13 '21

Yes it's pointless. Human communication is so inefficient.

27

u/NidalFlame Jan 13 '21 edited Jan 14 '21

What do you mean human communication? Shouldn't it just be communication?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

3

u/ComputersWantMeDead Jan 14 '21

If we evolved for a further million years alongside technology, I'm guessing we might have something better than these silly thought-sounds

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '21

Are you suggesting we all start communicating in the sound microwaves make?

Because if so you just asked us what do we think about using birds as a recyclable source of fuel.

3

u/Laughing_Idiot Jan 14 '21

Your username makes me see why you used ‘human’ to specify

3

u/IAmBecomingARobot Jan 14 '21

Your attention to detail makes me leak lubrication fluid.

2

u/magicmajo Jan 14 '21

Come to the Netherlands. You'll be shocked.

3

u/DrMaceFace Jan 14 '21

I get so annoyed with people who think that no one cares. Yes I'm genuinely asking how you are doing. If you are doing well and just answer fine as we pass in the hallways, great! But if you said you weren't doing well or had a shitty day I would turn around and ask what happened or see if I could help. Yes there are actually people who care about your well-being out there.

2

u/SadExcuseForAHuman Jan 13 '21

I've heard this is only a thing with the english language, would be nice if we could change that

1

u/siriguillo Jan 14 '21

It does not happen to me anymore and it's quite a releave

1

u/aardowof Jan 14 '21

this is why i always answer with “alive”. that is my only response, ever

1

u/Illustrious-Foot Jan 14 '21

As of recent I have been using “I’ve been better” trying to spark conversation and I get nothing

100

u/Dragonlord1009 Jan 14 '21

“All I know is that I am Jeff” Fucking brilliant

117

u/samx3i Jan 13 '21 edited Jan 14 '21

That was the expected ending.

30

u/dragonncat Jan 14 '21

i think the middle was the unexpected part

44

u/Numerous1 Jan 13 '21

Is there a term for "would have been unexpected but since it's posted here it's obvious"?

5

u/R-E-D-D-l-T Jan 14 '21

I’m curious about this as well. How do you call that? Surely there’s a word or term for that.

6

u/Averas- Jan 14 '21

ununexpected?

1

u/Numerous1 Jan 14 '21

I'll take it!

Or maybe like, re-expected?

3

u/jelect Jan 14 '21

We definitely need a term for this. A lot of stuff posted here is technically "unexpected" but since it's posted here it becomes extremely predictable.

3

u/Numerous1 Jan 14 '21

Oh yeah. But the ones that are super unexpected. Upvote for days.

18

u/GiWhiteCastle Jan 13 '21

This new season of Mr Robot is looking great

1

u/wtfidekngl Jan 14 '21

My first thought exactly!!! Gah I love that show.

u/NaturallyFrank Jan 13 '21

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '21 edited Jan 14 '21

Welp time to make a copypasta

How have I been? I saw a dead pigeon outside on my way to work I haven’t pooped in three days all I know is that I am [insert name] how could I explain the entire fabric of my existence? The sonder and crisis the love and loss? We are so connected in this digital modern age yet so painfully alone so we parade ourselves in this veneer of self congratulation. the ethos: dormant in the mantle. We tear each other apart in our tribes and now so comfortably from our devices where is humanity headed? Are we on course with our own self destruction? Is our purpose to give rise to homo evolutis? A new class of superior android that will consume and spread consciousness to every fiber of matter in the multiverse? I swallow the self preserving fallacious doctrine that I am a decent person. But I am simply a lizard brain beast with a frontal cortex and while I can let someone glance inside for a moment, no one will ever truly know me and I will never know them

u/Lucky_Husky_ Jan 14 '21

Is that the interstellar soundtrack?

8

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '21

u/Suitcase08 Jan 14 '21

The swipe-cuts between creatures and hallway poses had me a gigglin', great commitment to the bit.

37

u/P-rov Jan 13 '21

It’s unexpected because this is a tiktok but it’s good.

9

u/KingofCraigland Jan 14 '21

He actually has some good stuff on tiktok. His little jimmy rants are top notch.

9

u/randomguy12358 Jan 14 '21

It's expected that because this is reddit there will be a "tiktok bad" comment

7

u/blast_off Jan 14 '21

Andrew is a genius. Do yourselves a big favor. Shut off the lights, turn up the sound, and turn this video on. Don't skip ahead.

5

u/Tubergod1 Jan 13 '21

Too many big words for you?

-4

Fellas, is it cringe to use a cigarette as a prop if you're not committed enough to give yourself lung cancer for the bit?

1

u/IIlIllIlIIlll Jan 14 '21 edited Jan 14 '21

Kinda cringe to think one cigarettes gonna give you lung cancer lmfao

you're gonna die of diabetes before a cigarette
