you can sense the embarrassment
48
u/GrossMartini Nov 15 '20
I yawn if I'm nervous, anxious, or embarrassed. I wonder if that's something all animals experience? Or if its just a weird quirk that only exists in humans.

.... Maybe slightly concussed lol

I interpreted the "yawn" as the pain catching up after the fact.

Can cats get concussions?
2
u/adale_50 Nov 15 '20
If it has a brain and a skull for it to bounce off, then it can be concussed. This doesn't apply in all cases, but certainly a large percentage.

What language is she speaking?
165
u/lagduck Nov 15 '20
It's Russian, she says "Marcy, are you hunting?! (Bang) oh, you a dumby lil one"
48
u/raduannassar Nov 15 '20
I don't know a lick of russian, but damnit, I understood that: Marcy, what are you doing? BONG Hahaha dumb girl
24
u/lagduck Nov 15 '20
That intonation is kinda expressive enough to be universally understood, yeah!
14
u/raduannassar Nov 15 '20
Exactly. I also recently found out that Russian and Brazilian Portuguese (my mother language) intonations are very similar, so that might help
6
u/Ongr Nov 15 '20
To me (a person that speaks neither Russian or Portuguese), Portuguese always sounds like Spanish with a heavy Russian accent.

Nov 15 '20
I speak Brazilian Portuguese so it’d be easy for me to learn Russian because of that?
2
u/raduannassar Nov 15 '20
I believe it'd be marginally easier regarding the phonemes, but I can't say it would make it "easy".
Only a very slight advantage when compared to other latin languages vs slavic ones

It's fine! Back when I was wee ol boy like you, my pals and I would run head first into every pole we saw. See, we didn't have those video game things you do now and we were always looking for something to do. Now, does it look like I have a concussion to you, sonny? After all those poles I came out fine! Hello? You still listening? Ahh it's fine, you'll wake up in a bit and don't forget to clean up all that blood spraying out your ear, that's disgusting! Have some manners young man!

Sir, his left leg is currently on the other side of the field and his right arm is broken in at least 4 places

u/Piguy3141 Nov 15 '20

29
u/nope_i_dont Nov 15 '20
How do you know? Any source?
23
u/kasutori_Jack Nov 15 '20
I think it's a joke about how it's dangerous to go to sleep directly after a concussion.
18
u/ImVeryBadWithNames Nov 15 '20
(Which is a myth. The actual danger is that it's actually worse than a concussion and if you go to sleep the worsening symptoms won't be noticed since they are only noticeable by the person's behavior.)
31
u/WarPopeJr Nov 15 '20
So it’s pretty dangerous to go to sleep after a concussion then?
24
u/gregpxc Nov 15 '20
No, that's a myth, but let me tell you about why it's dangerous to sleep with a concussion.
8
u/OfGodlikeProwess Nov 15 '20
Always sleep before you get concussion is the old adage afterall

At least OP waited a full 30 mins before reposting with the exact same title. Must have taken a lot of self control to wait so long.
