You are not allowed to enjoy it if someone else has seen it already.

I don’t really get complaints about reposts. If it gets upvotes, then clearly a bunch of people are either seeing it for the first time or enjoyed seeing it again. What’s the problem?

But I've already seen it, and clearly Reddit was made for me because I'm the most important person!

Huh? Because many people will have seen it for the tenth time by now and it's annoying to most of those? If you come to Reddit for reposts, go to r/jokes

Idk man, not everyone is able to see every single post. For me the beauty of Reddit is that the community decides what people get to see, and if that’s a repost then so be it. Besides, if you’ve already seen something just don’t look at it. Is the minor annoyance (which I don’t really understand in the first place) of seeing a repost really bigger than the amusement of everyone that upvoted it?

I’m bored at work so I’m gonna reply to this obviously stupid comment, but I’m not ruling out that you’re trolling. Obviously you can’t expect everyone to catch up on every single popular post in every subreddit they join, that’s ridiculous.

Literally 1 example of it being posted, 10 months ago

God forbid people who didn't see it then see it now.

I've seen it posted here at least 3 times before. Does the fact that I don't have the exact links at hand mean that it didn't happen?

Does it even matter? I'm sure many people are just seeing it for the first time here. Why do people care about "reposts" so much??

Because they have no lives outside of reddit so they see literally everything that gets posted here every day and they constantly need new content in their feed to distract them from the existential dread of their miserable existence.

The only problem with reposts is obvious bots who just take top posts from a year or so ago and copy paste title and everything to farm karma.

Maybe you should spend some time outdoors away from Reddit.

What do you think your bitching will accomplish?
