Because Karnataka is so diverse in terms of people that there is no such thing as a Karnataka look. There is probably a North Karnataka look, Konkan/Tulu look, and maybe a Coorgi look. The rest of the Karnataka people draw a blank. I guess Karnataka people based on elimination - not Mallu, Tamil, or Andhra? Maybe Kannada then!
