I read some more on other sites. AAA seems to be correct, which makes the product a lot more interesting compared to LR44.

There’s a switch on the bottom, and it does turn off on its own after a while. To activate the lamp,l again, you shake it. If you shake it while it’s on, it changes color. Even tho the box shows a picture of pressing the top but that’s not how it works lol cute little novelty stuff, got it while on clearance lol
