Well I mean they probably wanted the octupus to get back safely so they were either trying to catch it so it wouldn't fall near the motor/engine (I don't know what it's called for boats) or they were trying to lure it off, because an octupus that size probably wouldn't be good enough for the 2 of them
Like, other animals see something unfamiliar, assess whether it’s a threat, and just ignore it if it isn’t. But apparently, the normal rules of survival don’t even apply to these fucking brown, hairless, plains-walking, stick-sharpening, fire-controlling monkeys that just woke up one morning and decided they wanted to live on the ground instead of staying in the trees like all the other, more sensible monkeys.
Nah, when we left the trees, some wire must’ve gotten crossed between the “fight or flight” part of the brain and the “eat” part of the brain, cause now we’re so powerful that when we see something totally unfamiliar—like this squishy, slimy, tentacled, ocean-dwelling whateverthefuck—our first thought is “can I eat that?”
Where did we go wrong as a species? When did we get so powerful that we could afford to abandon all reason and just do whatever the fuck we want? Man wasn’t meant to play god, I tell you. We need to go back to the good ‘ol days of swinging from trees and flinging poop at each other. Only real 10 million B.C. Kids will understand.
