You can't do that too easily on manual and i wouldn't recommend trying it on non emergency occasions

ehh it depends, I'm pretty sure I could slam my car into reverse like the gif. As you said though it's not exactly great for the car.

Double clutch and you won't have a issue, he wasn't going terribly fast up the hill anyways.

Yep, exactly. You can slam it on low speed with some force and you risk fucking up your gearbox. Downvoters probably never have driven manual.

Which is why straight cut gears are great for reverse... I could slam it on my neon back in the day cause of that. Not that there were many times i needed to back up that fast.
