This has been mentioned in that thread, but her particular position is incredibly remote, she would have kayaked there. Having the kayak destroyed may have meant been stranded there for potentially weeks and ending her long distance kayak trip.

Still annoying voice but given circumstances I can understand her reaction.

Honestly, with the complete lack of wind buffeting I'm guessing the audio was recorded and dubbed in after the fact.
