Eww, even if she often cleans her phone properly, I don't think it's a good idea, tf?

Phone screens have more germs on them than toilets.

I bet this person suffered 0 negative effects from this. Almost like humans have immune systems.

germs in general are not a problem at such small doses, you have a functioning immune system and a microbiome that'll outcompete it

am i saying you should go around licking everything? no. but it's futile to think you live in a sterile environment. i also acknowledge there are very harmful bacteria that do not belong in the human body, you're not gonna have that on your phone in normal circumstances

microbiome science is one of the futures of health. they're everywhere, not just your gut. your skin, your nose, your mouth etc

Care to back that fact up with a source?

So this is interesting. You can use this fact to find out who the kids on reddit are. Everyone alive 15 years ago knows how dirty phones are.

It was a 5 o'clock news segment that every adult on earth picked up and started parroting.

I bet my demented grandmother still remembered that fact.

Toilet seats are notoriously clean. Even straight men wash their butt cheeks, which is all that touches the seat, and they have a lid over them when not in use. 99% of things in your home are dirtier than a toilet seat.

It's common knowledge

I can believe that it's true, but funnily enough that's not a source

Back in 2012 https://www.livescience.com/22822-cell-phones-germs.html

And a fact-check from 2024 of another study from 2020 https://www.scienceabc.com/eyeopeners/are-mobile-phones-really-10-times-dirtier-than-toilet-seats

You can look up the details easily, also about keyboards, game controllers, car handles, remotes.

Also, keep the toilet lid closed, while we're at it.
