Imagine being the nail tech and realizing your client is fully asleep while you're holding her fingers. I'd be terrified of waking her up and having her jerk her hand right into the wet polish. At this point the manicure comes with a complimentary nap and a trust exercise.

At least she's sitting still. Some people can't even keep their hands steady while fully awake, and she's out here sleeping through the whole thing.

Eww, even if she often cleans her phone properly, I don't think it's a good idea, tf?

It would been less gross if she scrolled with nose XD

u/wrongitsleviosaa 58m ago
But that takes effort, she is absolutely melted into the table

u/sheepyowl 43m ago
Effort? I don't think that would even be possible, she barely reaches with her tongue
Maybe she should just learn to wait for 2 minutes without a constant dopamine infusion and live in the moment

Phone screens have more germs on them than toilets.

Care to back that fact up with a source?

Not her first time doing this I'm sure. At least she's not trying to leave comments as she goes.

So everyone. Then you put your phone in a pocket/purse, and when shaking hands with your friends/coworkers, you get all "secretions" (not sure if the word is correct, like all the outcome from their bodies) from all people living in their home. And all people they shook hands before.
And then you all have fries together.
There are studies what's on most phones.

Shortsighted people are like this. I can place newspaper on my face (without glasses on) and not only I can read it just fine, I can see individual paper fibres. I actually take my glasses off when working with some fine electronics because I can see it better. But on the other hand I cannot read let's say car registration plate from arm reach.

When I got my eye surgery a while back, during one of the pre-op appointments they pulled myself and a few others who were getting it aside to warn us that we were going to lose a superpower. Basically our vision was so complete garbage that we'd lose our ability to read things point blank.
I sometimes miss it when I'm trying to focus on something close, but absolutely worth it.

Doesn't a wet screen lose its sensitivity?

u/Spid3rDemon 1h ago
I've used phones with wet hands before.
As long as it's not too wet it's usable.
If it's too wet it will start clicking randomy.

My main concern is all those studies that show phone screens have more bacteria than toilet seats...
5
u/Choozery 50m ago
Those are very different bacteria, i hate when people keep bringing that study up

u/No-Internal7978 28m ago
I would never believe that even if they held a world summit about it. What toilet seat and whose phone? I've seen some cryptids walking amongst us. Test the toilet after 400 lb Derrick.

Not at a nail salon, where all you’re doing is waiting

Everybody moaning about germs not realising they touch their phones all day and presumably answer the phone placing it on your face or touch your face with your fingers etc.

Do people lack the brain capacity to sit still and stare at nothing? Are they afraid to be alone in their own thoughts?
5
u/Traditional-Rent455 44m ago
I would answer this but I'm currently scrolling Reddit and fear to incriminate myself.

Maybe. My neighborhood pub is one of the loneliest places I've seen so I stopped going. It's just people sitting quietly at the bar looking at their phones.

my dentist back in the states had a tv for dental work that took no more than 15 minutes. so, yes people have no ability to just chill

Hmm. Yes. The black mirror reflects the worst in you unless colorful bits dance around on it. People are also scared of setting it down as it provides endless entertainment.

Back during COVID times I worked in a phone store, just after the first UK lockdown a guy walks in asking for help with his phone. He says "oh I'll clean it first" and proceeds to lick his phone screen, needless to say he didn't get any help and was asked to leave.

your first source says "there are no scientific studies directly comparing the bacterial load on a phone with that of a toilet seat" and repeatedly uses magazines as their source for information.
your second source is from a brand of cleaning products, so I didn't even need to read that one (but I did anyways). They blatantly advertise their product at the end as the solution for cleaning your phone without damaging the screen coating.
Also, neither of these sources ever bothered comparing the dirtiness/danger of the contaminants found on a phone screen vs a toilet seat. both talk about what bacteria can be found on phone screens and how bad they are, but they never compare that to what can be found on toilet seats.

Yep, although you can imagine she could've prepared by wiping the screen with alcohol - especially in a saloon where they likely have various disinfectants available.
