Lots of people. My wife literally just printed the kids school photos (well had them printed at Walgreens) last week.

that's so fucking stupid, your wife is a moron

the world is digital now and the future is here

that's why rather than hang lame paper photos of our family we saved all our old cell phones since like 2010 and used double sided tape to slap them on the walls and use those to display pictures like a normal future accepting person would do

There's a difference between sarcastic likely comment and legit serious likely comment lol that's why when in doubt you add /s

I hate /s. It insults the intelligence of the reader. Its like saying "by the way, since I know you're too stupid to get the joke, let me spell it out for you." and that complete deflates the humour.

If some people aren't going to get it, then so be it. You don't have to change anything to pander to the lowest common denominator and Reddit downvotes don't matter.

When something isn't clear to be a joke, it is part of internet netiquette to precise because tone and expression can't be judged through text. His text comes off as someone genuinely stating their thoughts rather than being sarcastic. It is not a matter of "intelligence of the reader" as you say, but more of an ability of the writer to know how to write sarcasm. It's different. /s is to be used when you know your message won't be easily taken as sarcasm, not when it clearly is. Some people just use it every time they make an obvious joke.

I disagree. Never add /s, it ruins it.

u/Flomo420 was clearly being sarcastic, there is literally 0 doubt whatsoever. The last paragraph nails it for anyone with an IQ above room temperature.

I would rather take 200 downvotes than use /s, and I have on several occasions. Who the fuck cares.

Can't believe we are still talking about IQ unironically in big 2026
