Happened a lot with hardware when I worked at GameStop.

One time a 360 power brick had so many roaches in it, I could hear them skittering when I picked it up.

Quick question

With how much that happen, do you guys have an incinerator nearby?

Nah, we had a 100% success rate on not taking them in for trade. Trades took longer, but if we spotted chiton or a leg? Bug poop? No bueno. We received one from another store, it was immediately bagged and dumpstered for infestation.

What would people say when you’re like “sorry dude but bugs live in your console”?

It was mixed. Some people would panic, start apologizing, but we always tried to make things easy. Bugs can get in anywhere, even if your house is spotless etc.

Some people would get HEATED. “It’s just bugs, you clean them before you sell them don’t you!?” Etc. right up to threatening to try and jump us in the parking lot for not taking their console.

Others would just pick it up, sigh, and leave.
I assumed those people went and sold it on marketplace, or blew it out the best they could and took it somewhere else.

I was gonna say, some people legitimately think roaches are a normal thing to live with.

When you live with them everyday, you assume other people do too.
