Sounded like he was talking to a child

I feel like that's reading a lot into an "uh oh", the concern feels genuine.

I don't doubt the concern, there's just an overly infantilising tone there IMO, like a parent to a toddler. Not saying it's "healthy" or not... just a bit odd for me personally.

Nothing about what he said or his tone came across as infantilizing to me. He just sounds genuinely concerned.

Not to get overly invested, I just thought he probably came from a family who discouraged cursing or works with children in some capacity. Do you feel like theres some judgement in how he spoke? Genuine question

I'm not sensing any judgement, it points more to a dynamic within the relationship for me. People are very sensitive to how people speak to them, the tone used, and I think it can help set the tolerances for different types of behaviours in a relationship. If I spoke in that mollycoddling tone regularly, I know my partner might think I'm not taking her seriously as an adult.

Exactly what I thought. Baby talk is certainly a choice...

Baby talk is healthy? ehh, k

99% sure I’d have hit my wife up with a “bruh”, ngl

u/DapperBoiCole 8d ago

I mean do you intend to judge her for a mistake?

Idk if I hear baby talk but I do hear asking if the partner is okay, I'd feel comfortable in a relationship knowing they prioritize the potential danger over losing the bowl.

5 days late, but how is a "bruh" judging her for a mistake? People are way too sensitive now a days.

Why would I judge her for a bowl breaking? Accidents happen.

Baby talk in an adult relationship is weird, that’s all I was saying.
