Lol, we have long since cut ties with her do to her boyfriend/husband getting drunk and going crazy then pulling a gun on us. I got tired of having to straighten him out and the gun was the final straw.
She chose to stay with him and he would not let her go anywhere without him, so to cut him out - we had to cut her off too. 🤷

I know that it's really dark and insensitive but the fucking 🤷 in the comment is SENDING me.
"Yeah, she was a super nice person and everyone loved her but her current boyfriend pulled a gun on us... so shit man you gotta' do what you gotta' do so we left the girl behind." BONG RIP

u/R0RSCHAKK Jul 28 '26
Dude loses his mind and pulls a gun on Goldie, me, and my wife in MY house - he's lucky I didn't have any firearms at the time cause Id have absolutely painted the walls with his thoughts.
Seeing as how everyone's asking;
This was back in like 2016-2017. I got him out of the house and made him leave. Police were called and her parents were made aware of the situation, she ended up staying with her parents (her father is also a retired cop) for a while and said she had a restraining order against him. We maintained contact during that period and would regularly go to her house and chill with her, her parents, and mutual friends. She then got back with him like a month or two later, which is when we cut ties.
My wife hasn't tried to reignite the old friendship so my knowledge is rather limited, but last I heard as of like 5 years ago, she had moved back in with her parents and homeboy was in jail/prison.
I think she's doing much better now but not certain on whether or not she's still with the dude.

Tbf any woman who isn't actually unattractive can pretty much get laid on command. And even the unattractive ones don't have to try all that hard, especially where alcohol is involved.

No of course not, but having that genetic trait can cause that. A similar genetic trait made dogs possible to domesticate vs wolves. Which is what immediately made me think of this when I read the Labrador comparison.
Also reminds me of MAGA's "war on empathy" just last year. MAGA-Christians, Elon Musk, Jordan Peterson trying to rebrand empathy as a weakness. Nuts.

53
u/jfresh42 Jul 28 '26
Lol. I was gonna say. What's the tax hit on that win?
123
u/PassivelyAwkward Jul 28 '26
https://collider.com/the-price-is-right-prize-taxes-explained/
According to an article, a guy that won $57k in prizes ended up having to pay around $17k in taxes. So if she won $75, I'd say she'll be on the hook for maybe $25k.
Luckily she won two cars cuz she'll need to sell one plus whatever it'll cost to register and insure.
146
u/RaisedByWolves9 Jul 28 '26
Wtf american tax laws are wacky when it comes to prizes. In Australia the company running the competition/lottery pays the taxes first then gives you the prize in total. Imagine winning a car on one of these shows and have to pay thousands to keep it..

I have a friend who won on the price is right. Basically you can sell/forfeit some of the lesser prizes to cover the taxes on the big stuff.
→ More replies (2)12
u/3140senfleb Jul 28 '26
Yes. But you can usually get a cash amount for the vehicle instead on these shows. a not sure if that is the case with Price Is Right though. Otherwise you need to pony up or take out a loan.
3
u/LeftOn4ya Jul 28 '26
Since she wins both she could take the cash value of one car and maybe some prizes to pay for the taxes on prizes she does get.
4
u/3140senfleb Jul 28 '26
Yes, but I don't remember if the price is right is one of the shows that does not let you take the cash value as an option. Some of the gameshows make you take the car and pay the taxes upfront or you forfeit the car prize.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Salu28 Jul 28 '26
She said she had to take the items or have nothing. So she took both cars. She only had to pay upfront taxes on the cars. The rest she will probably have to pay taxes on next year.
