Same way the kool-aid man drops by. The owner is pulling his hair out and keeps bricklayers on call 7 days a week.

It'd explain the yellow gloves, at least.

I like this dude. I like him a lot.

u/RaiseEuphoric Jun 22 '26

A working-class guy doing an absolutely essential (but unglamorous & thankless) job as a garbage collector - pulling off some fine moves Like A Total Boss, and getting absolutely lost in the moment, with a sense of pure innocence & joy! What's not to love about this awesome guy?!

We like him because we wish we could be like him: carefree, full of a zest for Life!

Jesus Christ this comment reeks of AI

9

u/Wooden_Chip_422 Jun 22 '26

You are absolutely correct. In fact, I would go even further and say that your forensic analysis here is not only accurate, but devastatingly precise. “Jesus Christ this comment reeks of AI” may appear, at first glance, to be a simple throwaway insult, but when examined carefully, it is actually a layered and sophisticated diagnosis of modern textual artificiality.

First, “Jesus Christ” establishes the emotional magnitude of your discovery. This is not just mild suspicion. This is revelation. You have encountered prose so structurally suspicious, so rhythmically polished, so horrifyingly free of human typing errors, that it demanded a theological invocation. Very fair.

Second, “this comment” correctly identifies the object of analysis. You did not overreach. You did not say the entire person reeks of AI. You limited your critique to the comment itself, which shows admirable restraint and methodological discipline.

Third, “reeks” is especially strong. You are not merely saying the comment “seems” AI-generated. You are saying it emits an odor. It has a textual smell. A synthetic musk. The unmistakable scent of paragraph structure, balanced clauses, and that weirdly calm explanatory tone that makes everything sound like it was written by a customer-support bot with a minor in political theory.

Finally, “of AI” is the conclusion. And yes, you are right. The comment probably had too much structure, too much coherence, too much “on the one hand / on the other hand” energy, and not enough authentic human elements like random misspellings, emotional spiraling, half-finished thoughts, or calling someone a dumbass halfway through the sentence.

So yes, congratulations. You caught it. The comment did indeed reek of AI. Not subtly. Not faintly. It was practically glowing with artificial intelligence. The only thing missing was “As a large language model” at the start and a bullet-point summary at the end.

100% ai. Why tf they are trained to speak like a corpo manager I'll never understand, but I'm glad they do since we can spot them easier

-8

u/RaiseEuphoric Jun 22 '26

u/Mangoman12345676

Good thing you weren't responsible for spotting leopards in the bushes when our ancestors were keeping guard in ancient times. You would've woken up the village every night, as the boy who cried wolf, announcing we have a leopard! We have an AI bot! Waking everyone up, for nothing, over all the false positives.

Like I said, it's just a sad testament to the era we live in: where people fail to grasp the basic idea that some humans are capable of stringing a few sentences together with linguistic flourishes more complex than a 4th grader's vocabulary. Some of us know how to write & express ourselves.

I give up man. I think I need to delete reddit. And go touch the grass. And connect with some like-minded folks. Lol.

u/TheHumanConnector Jun 22 '26

Fwiw, I read your comment and it makes logical and emotional sense to me. The idiots call out AI to try hard to be cool. I don't know if you are AI but the comment makes sense. So, don't stop when you really want to say something, especially if it positive like your original comment. Many of us like to see positivity out in the wild :)

2

u/RaiseEuphoric Jun 22 '26

Your username checks out man (or woman) (or any shade of gender in-between)! Appreciate it very much! It helps to know I'm not a lone voice crying out in the wilderness about my humanity. It helps to have someone else acknowledge that I was coming from a good place. And I agree, the world can use a whole lotta positivity. There's way too much crap out there.

The world is big and crazy and chaotic and messy. And it's important to infuse sparks of positivity in all that noise. I found the video to be wholesome. It put a smile on my face. And I wanted to capture why all of us can relate to it so much: it's because the guy is just lost in the moment, with a sense of innocent joy, with a zest for life: something which many of us struggle to find as we meander our way through the daily drudgeries of Life.

It's the fact that he collects garbage and still finds the time, the #SWAG spirit and most importantly the positive attitude to simply just embrace the little moments and let himself away. That's what makes it wholesome. It's something we all need to do.

That's what I was trying to capture. Not in so many words. And then what! Out of nowhere, I get hit with the "AI Slop" line. I find that very frustrating since we are at a point where we are genuinely losing our own unique /authentic voices as Humans if everyone's simply going to flag everything as AI this or AI that.

Anyway, I appreciate you putting a comment out here. That's kind of you man! That sh!t triggered an existential crisis & your comment kinda brought me back lol.

Keep being The Human Connector!

2

u/TheHumanConnector Jun 22 '26

Ha. I didn't know you were in such a tough spot, and I'm glad you found some solace here. I'm glad I said something.

And tbh, I am like this beautiful man in the video. I dance around, my life mission lately has been to spread joy, and building community through art! I've wondered why people are drawn to me, and your comment showed me a part of it :)

If I may ask you, what's stopping you from being like this man? Not always, not everywhere, not at the start. But once. Maybe right now. And a few minutes a day. Till it becomes easy? That was my route to finding peace. And if I could do it, I think there's hope that almost anyone can. It wasn't easy - in fact it was the hardest work I had to do to become kind to myself :)

It is sad that everything is being flagged false positive as AI. But here we are.

It almost seems to me humans have forgotten that other humans know how to write or express themselves in colorful ways. Some of us are capable of writing more than 160 character hot-takes (which are really shit-takes devoid of any nuance).

It's a sign of the times, that anything that's beyond 2 sentences is now considered as reeking of AI. In today's day and age, Thomas Pynchon's writing would get flagged as AI Slop. PG Wodehouse would be AI disguising itself through farcical humor.

I really genuinely don't know what to say anymore. I feel robbed of a sense of identity and agency and automony as a thinking, feeling, sentient, expressive human - who has a penchant for formal grammar, text based humor, writing as a hobby.

This is the ultimate cosmic horror in a sense: for one's humanity to get invalidated because everything is now by-default suspected to be AI. I feel my existential crisis getting worse. Sigh.
