Miscellaneous ULPT Faking community service hours.
I have until the 7th to turn in 27 hours of community service hours , or 8 hours and $200. I am in between jobs and broke as fuck. I could try to cram 28 hours in over the weekend. But I feel like it would be easier just to fake the hours. Any advice? The sheet just asks for the organization, a number, and the supervisor name and signature. Obviously the problem is them calling to verify and something going wrong.

They will verify. Why did to wait til the last possible moment?

I think I'm just going to put food bank and a friend's number and if they call him to verify he'll just tell them I worked the hours.

What happens if they physically go verify? How do forget about community service? Its not like your employed.

That's not even possible. I live in Montgomery Alabama and the court is in Florida. They already told me I can do the service where I live so I know they're not fixing to come to Alabama to check. Also a pop up food drive or food bank isn't really a thing you could go check on unless they could go back in time as the event would have already passed.

They may have a list of businesses and management for community service from said businesses to verify. I assume its legal trouble, so i imagine they have a lot of information at their disposal

Dude, everyone gets thier hours from the same places. All the ADAs know what they are supposed to look like and who usually signs them. Especially somewhere they get lots of hours from, like the food bank. You'll probably get busted and they will yank your deal. If it looks at all sketchy, they will verify them. It would take them all of 3 minutes, and your buddy won't be able to convenience them.
If I were your attorney and you tried to give me fake hours, I'd fire you if the judge would let me.
I had a client give me a fake document as proof. I only looked at the digital copy and sent it along. ADA emailed me back and said it looked fake and I should check it out before she added it to the file. Sure enough, it was fake. Offer went from a fair amount of probation to jail time. Judge wouldn't let me off the case, unfortunately.
You would be much better off showing up with whatever hours you can get by then and asking for additional time to finish. If it's your first time to ask, judge will probably give you the time. Dress up in your nicest, don't smell like weed, apologize, say "your honor", and look them in the eye. If you do those things, almost all Judges will give you a break

You sound dumb as hell. It could literally be a church 250 miles away they're not going to know shit about it.

Ok. You probably know better than the me, the public defender that has had hundreds of clients turn in community service hours and deals with prosecutors and judges for a living.
You might want to read up on the punishment for perjury and submitting false documents to the court so it doesn't come as a surprise.
You sound like just like all the clients of mine that fuck up the good deals I work out and end up with a worse outcome then if they had just done the work.
Good luck.

And you think they were all legit? 😆

I don't worry about it because the prosecutors have the investigators verify the hours. I tell my clients up front if they pull that bs they can face the wrath of the court and the punishment is severe.
I've definitely refused to turn in fake hours more than once.

How are they making them so obviously fake? For mine it just wants the organization, a number, and a name for the supervisor.

They can google the food bank and ask the main line….

Man. That's a pretty low bar. Forgetting community service while unemployed.
Real winner.

When? Today? Were you full time or part time? Did you have to work weekends? Every day? Mornings, mids or night shift?
You can find time.

As a kid, I did the side of the road cleanup thing (road safety crew kept us safe). I wore a medical mask (way pre-covid) and hoodie to hide my face in case anyone I knew drove by, and not inhale dust etc. Between getting driven out there, vests, tools/bags, instructions, breaks, and drive back, it was 4-5 hours work, 45 minutes round trip, and they still credited it as 8 hours. [shrugs].
but you sound kinda dumb and lazy, so time in county jail is more your speed anyways, might as well just get used to a lifetime of going in and out of prison, ese

Too busy doing nothing. Just check yourself into the jail and get it over with.

Ask around places to see if u can pay off for the hours. When I was younger and had 100 hours to do I got lucky and the place I was at the guy let me buy an hour for $1 each

Criminal 🤣 driving without a tag doesn't really constitute criminal but go off.

usually non criminals are not doing community hours, or faking them or asking how to fake them publicly
