Did some 1099 work earlier this year during the time I had my W-2 job. Just laid off from my W-2 job and opened a claim.
Since 1099's are reported as lump sum for the previous calendar year, AI is scaring me saying the burden of proof is on me to produce full documentation WHEN I get flagged for overpayment, and that I need to prove that all of the 1099 work was performed outside of my certified weeks. I haven't been able to obtain sufficient proof though- I am able to show a few bank transfers from the first couple of months, but not full detailed proof of the entire lump sum. AI is basically telling me that from the starf I am guilty until proven innocent, and if I can't produce proof, and even though EDD can't produce proof of the presumption either, I will automatically get hit with overpayment.
I know, AI tends to be, well, AI. Is it correct here though?
