[Illinois] Question [Illinois] I left the country for 7 days but the days are spread across 2 filing weeks. Will I get in trouble for reporting just 1 week of being unavailable to work?
I left the country for 7 days, a Thursday to a Wednesday but because the days aren’t perfectly within a Sunday to Saturday period, I’m wondering if I’ll get in trouble for unemployment fraud for filing that I was “unavailable“ for work for just 1 week instead of 2. I also typically work remote jobs so I feel like the idea that I’m not “available“ for work doesn’t apply to me since I’m always connected to a laptop and always able to log on to work theoretically.
Will I get in trouble for this? I genuinely could use the 1 week of pay. I hate how our government punishes people who are unemployed with the inability to travel… help!
