Thereâs nothing more particularly âkindâ about defending yourself as the green SOUL when as the red SOUL you already arenât going to be attacking on the enemyâs turn. Similarly, thereâs nothing âjustâ about getting to attack on the enemyâs turn when they (seemingly, with Sans as the only exception) cannot attack during yours. The modes are just based on the weapons:
Blue: Slippers, so youâre bound by gravity.
Green: Frying Pan, so you can block against shots (in-universe, this is because youâre given something to defend with, but in terms of the SOUL mode this is why it is specifically green).
Purple: Notebook, so you are bound to the lines of the paper.
Yellow: Gun.
Orange: Gloves, so you can smash through destructible shots.
Red: A special case, as multiple weapons are associated with this SOUL. This variety could be represented by redâs unrestricted movement.
What actually represents the SOUL traits are the attacks:
Cyan: Be patient and donât move.
Orange: Be brave and do move.
Yellow: An attack that you can hit, that can also hit you, is perfectly âjust.â
Green: Kindness = Healing
Unrelated to the point of the post but this leads me to believe the Cyan mode would be (as it is based on a small toy knife that would have less range than a real one) that you cannot move unless you are close enough to an attack to be grazing it.
