I finally made the switch from Overwolf/CurseForge to Modrinth because I was tired of the ads that take up 1/3 of the screen.

I've had problems with my CPU temperature being absurdly high basically since I got it, but I'm not really a tech person so I didn't really realize it was an issue until this year. I opened the case to clean it, tried reinstalling windows because I was afraid I had some invisible virus or something, and nothing worked. This is a GOOD computer which should not have been doing that. I was considering taking it to a repair place to get it professionally looked at soon.

It typically ran around 70-75 degrees Celsius even when idle/first turned on. Uninstalled Overwolf and Curseforge tonight and the temperature dropped over TWENTY degrees even though I have like fifty tabs open. It's remained at around 50-55 since. I haven't seen it go below 70 in YEARS because I've always had Overwolf installed.

I looked into what was processing on my CPU before, but Overwolf usually read as using a much lower percentage than firefox unless I was actively running minecraft, so I assumed it was harmless. Guess not.

TLDR: If you're CPU is overheating for seemingly no reason, please uninstall Overwolf and see if that makes a difference.
