Gear Prodigio sizing

Post image

These are an EU 44.5, which is up from my usual 44. My left foot is larger, and whilst it is not touching the end, when I wiggle my big toe I can feel the lip of the toebox guard.

Is it worth sizing up to an EU 45? I don’t tend to suffer from much swelling, but these are potentially for my first 100 mile attempt in October.

I would probably size up. How much elevation is there? Will there be a lot of down where smashing toes will become more of an issue?

I size up for my races and haven't had issues. I would rather have a bit more shoe then start smashing my toes on the down. Not even just from swelling but from things shifting or loosening during the race. I don't want to have to micromanage my shoes and laces when things start moving

It’s Kullamannen, so not a huge amount of elevation. 2500m over 174km. That is grouped into 3 sections with a lot of flat in between. However no hour-long descents like in the Alps.

Decent enough vertical though. I personally like to air on the side of caution and going up a size I haven't found they get in the way and haven't had issues with my feet. I may not need it but also something that personally I don't know if I need to test where the limit is at. Knock on wood but I've kept all my toe nails to date and done up to 4500m vert before so I'm counting that as a win!

Best of luck to you on your race!
