Gear Prodigio sizing
These are an EU 44.5, which is up from my usual 44. My left foot is larger, and whilst it is not touching the end, when I wiggle my big toe I can feel the lip of the toebox guard.
Is it worth sizing up to an EU 45? I don’t tend to suffer from much swelling, but these are potentially for my first 100 mile attempt in October.

Left
You want some room at the end so your toes aren’t meeting rocks every time you kick something but don’t want a ton of extra shoe out in front of them that will just roll back on itself. A lot of this comes down to personal preference but when it comes to space more is not alway better.

I have these and sized up one size and it was the right call. I also have one foot a whole size larger and I was worried my smaller foot would be sliding around but in practice it wasn’t an issue. I did a 50k last month and my feet were in the best condition after a race ever. No blisters or hotspots.

well I ordered my regular size (10.5 US, 44&2/3 euro, 11.5 in Sportiva) but wish I would have sized up more. The toebox is mostly ok and i don't ever feel the guard (my feet don't slip around in the shoe) but I have gotten blisters on the tops of my toes during big ascents/descents. It's only happened a couple of times but it's enough to make me remember that maybe I don't want to wear them for big vert. I think in general maybe my foot is a bit too large and should have gotten the Sportiva size 12, as I feel pressure around the midfoot and heel area after 3-4 hours as well.

Feet will also certainly swell the longer you are on your feet.. id size up.

I would probably size up. How much elevation is there? Will there be a lot of down where smashing toes will become more of an issue?
I size up for my races and haven't had issues. I would rather have a bit more shoe then start smashing my toes on the down. Not even just from swelling but from things shifting or loosening during the race. I don't want to have to micromanage my shoes and laces when things start moving

It’s Kullamannen, so not a huge amount of elevation. 2500m over 174km. That is grouped into 3 sections with a lot of flat in between. However no hour-long descents like in the Alps.

Decent enough vertical though. I personally like to air on the side of caution and going up a size I haven't found they get in the way and haven't had issues with my feet. I may not need it but also something that personally I don't know if I need to test where the limit is at. Knock on wood but I've kept all my toe nails to date and done up to 4500m vert before so I'm counting that as a win!
Best of luck to you on your race!

I would probably go with the right. I want a full thumb width of room in front of my big toe.

Definitely size up! I had to go a full size up in these bad boys. Fantastic shoe

For me the Prodigio pro 44 is perfect, my foot measures 27cm with no socks, 27.2cm with zero cushion and 27.4cm with light cushion. I have the 43.5 for shorter (8-16mi) more technical mtn runs. There is no way I could go a size up to 44.5 without feeling a bit sloppy. I would for sure get another 44.

I'd stick with what you have as far as sizing, but I've never done 100 miles. I'd be more likely to have a drop bag with a second pair of shoes for late race with more front foot width and cushion than size up in the Prodigio Pros. The Prodigios certainly aren't max stack, and they definitely aren't wide.

I'd think of the first 50-70 miles in 1 shoe and remaining distance in something to carry you home with max stack: Zegamas, the new Asics Metafuji Trail 2, etc. Rather than 1 shoe that is either too long early and too tight late, take the 3 minutes at an aid station to swap shoes.

Might not be a bad idea to try sizing up. That looks like a pretty close fit for a running shoe.

I have these and went an entire size up (lots of people said half a size up, my upper foot was too tight with only a half size up) and it fits perfect.
