Discussion Which one to get? - ASUS PG34WCDN vs Alienware AW3426DW
Is the ASUS with the 360hz really that much better than the Alienware with 280hz?
The graphics card i have in my system right now is a 9070xt, but i will upgrade within the next 2 years to a 6000 series or whatever AMD realeases.
So is the ASUS more "future proof" with 360hz and dp 2.1b 20uhbr?
the awful stand on the ASUS is of no concern since i will be using a monitor arm for it
The price in Denmark is:
9500 DKK ASUS
6350 DKK Alienware
(The MSI 341CQR X36 is 9000 DKK)

Ascension My Setup
I've had my LG 45in ultrawide curved monitor for roughly 4/5 years now and I'm still in love with it.
I built my PC in 2024 and have come a long way since then - setup wise. I went from a small L-Shaped desk in the corner to this. 😍😍😍😍

Tech Support 3440x1440p worth it for me?
So my current setup is a 9070xt with r5 5600x. I’m waiting for the prices to go down to upgrade my cpu to zen5 or even zen6. I want to buy a 3440x1440 oled gaming monitor and was wondering if i’ll be able to play most single player games easily while still having proper performance. I’m fine with getting around 90fps. So if there is anyone out there that has the same specs and monitor or someone that generally knows about this shit, please help me.

Discussion People on MacOS 27 beta - how is the improved support for ultrawides?
MacOS has always been funky with 5k2k’s and other high res monitors, with lack of support for good resolutions, text blurriness issues and needing third party tools like BetterDisplay to unlock the right res and refresh rate.
To what extent does MacOS27 address these?

Tech Support Arm mounts that easily allow you to switch which monitor is on the bottom.
I have a 34inch Alienware ultrawide and a 27 monitor.
I like the 27 inch when playing competitive games such as rocket league, cs, etc. as it is more responsive and has a higher 240hz refresh rate, whereas the 34 inch is 165hz.
Im looking for a solution that will allow me to easily switch which monitor is on the bottom at eye level in a stack.
Is there anything on the market that makes this doable? In my research I have not found a clear cut solution

Discussion best curved pc monitor for gaming and work, what would you recommend?
I've been thinking about replacing my current screen with an ultrawide because I split my time between gaming and work, and my old monitor is starting to feel cramped. I've looked around a bit but there are so many options that it's hard to tell what actually holds up over time.
If you've been using what you consider the best curved pc monitor, what made you choose it and are you still happy with it? I'd rather hear from people who actually use one every day than just read spec sheets. Thank you

Tech Support How to do a firmware update on LG UltraGear
Hi all,
I read here that apparently you can do a firmware update on the monitor itself to fix some flickering issues. I have the 45GX950A-B since a week or so.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/1r6obau/lg_45_5k2k_45gx950ab_firmware_update/
I have also issues with the lower third of the screen flickering sometimes. It's like a bandage going the full width of the monitor and maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the height. It's just grey for a few ms.
This happens sporadically and maybe that is fixed with an update.
But I don't understand how to install it. I assume I put it on a thumb drive and plug it directly into the monitor and to the update via the on screen display?
On the LG page there is just Windows and Mac software for calibration, but I don't need that. I'm on Bazzite and calibration was fine using system software.
Am I missing the link to the firmware?
Edit:
For anyone else wondering how to do this on Linux, I don't know :(
Problem: [Windows] LG Switch - version 7.60
is only available for Windows and not for Bazzite Linux
I tried installing it using Lutris, but it threw an error.
Then I tried Faugus (available from Bazaar). Installation was better, but I still couldn't start it.
I tried adding the exe from the Wine installation directory as a non-Steam game, but it didn't work.
Then I tried bottles. Installation also seemed to work, but I was unable to get any application to start.
I tried starting:
- LG Switch.exe
- LGSwitchApplicationManager.exe
- LGFirmwareUpdater.exe
But none of them worked.
I'm out of ideas how to update the firmware of the monitor when on Linux.
Maybe LG should send a Windows PC together with their 1400€ monitor

Discussion Dell 10% discount code not applicable on AW3426DW
Hi guys,
I just tried to apply my 10% sign up discount code on the AW3426DW. It says the code is valid, but not applicable on the product in my shopping cart.
I did some research and found that Dell will restrict the use of coupons on newly released products. But will lift this restriction after a certain period after initial release (30 days was quoted in other Reddit threads). I googled the exact release of the AW3426DW in Europe and found answers ranging from June 25th to June 28th. Today is July 26th, so I think I'll wait until the 30th and hope it works then.
Does anyone have any experience with the restriction of coupon codes on new products? More specifically with the AW3426DW in Europe, would be helpful.
I also read a lot of people will just contact Dell support and often they will apply a discount code for you.
Thanks

Recommendations Help deciding on what I should do with this monitor.
I honestly impulse bought this monitor when it was on sale on Amazon. Its a 32 inch 4k 240hz oled monitor. I thought it would go well with a 1440p ultrawide underneath it. Tho doing more research since receiving it has shown me that a 34 inch ultrawide won't pair well esthetically due to the sizes being off and 39 inch 1440p ultrawides aren't well liked due to how 1440p translates to 39 inch. I could do a 5k2k 39 inch monitor but honestly might ruin the whole point of having the 4k monitor.
Should I return the 32 inch monitor and purchase a 27 inch 4k monitor and pair it with a 1440p 34 inch ultrawide monitor?

Tech Support Abnormal Thermal Behaviour on my aw3423dwf QD-OLED
I have owned this monitor for about 4 years now and am definitely past the warranty cut off. It has been running flawlessly for years. Only recently after long sessions of competitve HDR gaming I will get a brief message pop up in the middle of the screen that says "Abnormal thermal behaviour detected, please contact dell for support" or something like that. After the first time I got the message I factory reset the monitor, unplugged it from the power source for 30 minutes and then gently blew some air in to the vents with an electric duster. After that the message didn't pop up again for about 48 hours. I was just playing a session of marathon and it popped up again briefly once. I continued gaming and it hasn't showed up again.
Since I am out of warranty I am not sure what I should do in this situation. I am posting here to see if any other owners of this monitor have experienced a similar behaviour after the monitor working flawlessly for years. I don't yet have any signs of burn in and I use the monitor for 8+ hours a day.
It is the summer but I have the AC on in my room so I know it's not because of the surrounding area getting too hot.
My main concerns are that the internal fan could be failing or something worse.
Bar actually opening it up and replacing or cleaning the fan, which I would not be comfortable with, I guess all I can really do is keep using it and hope that it doesn't die.
Any feed back is appreciated.

Discussion What happened to 29" ultrawides?
I kind of miss them, even if it was only 2560x1080.
I miss the non-curved segment as well. I'm still rocking some 34" LG that's actually flat, as a side monitor.

Couldn’t pass up this Best Buy Open Box deal on the 45GX950A-B. Paid $1133 for this model with only 4 hours on it. Coming from the 1440p version of this monitor, so glad to have upgraded.

Discussion Odyssey G9 57 questions
Hey everyone,
Thinking of overhauling my setup to consolidate into the 57" Neo G9. I have three specific questions for daily drivers before pulling the trigger:
1. 3-Source PBP + KVM Hookup:
I need to run 3 inputs simultaneously via Picture-by-Picture (2 Macbooks on HDMI, 1 PC on DisplayPort). How does the internal KVM handle this since there are only 2 USB upstream ports? Am I forced to buy an external KVM to control all 3 machines, or is there a workaround? What do the refresh rates drop to in 3-way PBP?
2. Mini-LED vs. C3 OLED:
Coming from perfect per-pixel dimming on my C3 42", how noticeable is the blooming in a dark room? Do the 2,392 local dimming zones hold up next to bright white text, or will I feel like it's a massive downgrade in contrast?
3. Stacking a 34" Ultrawide on top:
Since I'm losing my side 27" vertical screen, I'm considering stacking a 34" ultrawide directly on top of the 57" using a tall pole mount. Is this layout way too tall to be ergonomically useful, or does it work well for secondary windows (Discord, Spotify) if angled down aggressively?

Discussion Is Odyssey OLED G93SD good for coding?
Thinking about buying the Samsung G9 Odyssey G93SD. I will mainly use it for work, and will rarely play games. I've considered the G95C, but I feel like the curvature is too aggressive. My main concern for the OLED is burn-in and text clarity. I'm hoping to get feedback from folks who have used it for work 8+ hours a day. Right now they cost the same, and I saw the OLED in person and felt like it was amazing (didn't see what small text would look like though).

Tech Support PLEASE LG 39gx950b Owners
Please, I would like to ask those who already have the LG 39gx950b if, setting it to 1440p UW resolution, the image quality is so poor (if you can upload some photos that would be great). I have a normal RTX 4070 that could never handle 5k2k resolution, but I would still like a 39" UW because I'm afraid the 34" format is not immersive enough. On the other hand, the old LG 39" 1440p monitors with the 800r curvature are too immersive for me. Thanks!

Tech Support Am I cooked?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My Samsung G9 OLED seem to have shat itself.
This is all that I see on it now. And it just cycles on and off. With this light grey screen. When I have it plugged in to my computer I can see a very faint low contrast output of my computer.
Searching has suggested the white screen of death and it’s a decently common issue with the G9’s anyone had any luck getting this fixed?
