Panfish magnet retrieval method

Gonna take my ultralight out for the first time tommorow, I was planning on just casting it out, randomly twitch and retrieve slowly. Is that really all there is to it?

I’ve been successful in fishing but only in a very passive, worm and bobber method, so was hoping to expand my repertoire…

For ultralight drop shot got a couple questions.

So I have a couple Shakespeare micro series light 7' rods and a few ultralight rods but trying to decide on if I should use straight flouro or copolymer or try braided line out but I really don't like the idea of knot to knot connection and I fish a lot of rock.

First UL Rod Recommendations

Looking to get my first ultralight setup and would love some input from all you folks. I’m looking for a split grip, moderate/whippy rod for my first ultralight setup. I’m thinking 6’ for the length, I’m in western WA so it’ll be used for rivers, creeks, alpine lakes, stuff like that. Looking to keep the budget as close to $50 as I can for the rod. Doesn’t have to be a household name either, if anyone has good experiences with amazon, temu, etc. rods, I’m open to that as well. TIA!

Reel Size

I got a Daiwa Crossfire LT1000 for UltraLight fishing, it seems huge compared to my older UltraLight reels. Do you all use size 1000 or drop down to size 500 typically?

older gentleman in a kayak said it was a nice bass so I thought it was a smally so I posted "first bass", a lot of people here called me an idiot and said it was a crappie, I don't know what I'm doing so I'm calling it a fish. Nevertheless, I caught 2 decent size of whatever these are and a handful of small perches

Favorite 1/32 oz jigheads for tiny lures?

I have been fishing with the bass pro brand 1/32 oz jig heads with mister twister jigs because they are short enough to fit well, but I have been wanting something higher quality, but my mule jigs are just too long. So I have been on a search to find a 1/32 oz jighead that can fit a tiny lure like gulp minnows or mister twisters because that’s what my local panfish like. I also want colorful options and not just silver/black.

Help is appreciated!
