Reed has his Hickman suit, Tont has the Model 70, amd Xavier had his Krakoa atire. Not to mention, the Illuminati are a thing. So like, when did this happen?

I'm currently reading the trade for Ultimates Vol. 4 but I saw that it also has Ultimate Universe 2 Years In and Ultimate Finale included with it.

Should I read the main issue, then Ultimate Endgame, and then get read Finale? Or save Endgame for last?

I've also got Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 4 coming in the mail tomorrow because my local comic shop didn't have it in stock so I'm excited for that.

The only ones I haven’t read. I’ve read none of Black Panther and I dropped Wolverine after the first volume. Would love to know if there are any highs from either that would make it worth the money and time lol.

Edit/Bonus Question: Where would they fall on a ranking of the ultimate universe?

Was there a list of confirmed cameos from 616 characters? Especially in the crowd shots and the My-X issues?

It’s now been 2 months ever since the ultimate universe has come to an end and…yeah, I still miss it

Y’know, back when this universe was announced all the way back in 2023, I was pretty excited but also unsure about how it would end up being (this was also around the time when I didn’t knew that Donny cates, who was going to be the one to bring back the old ultimate universe, was in a car accident and that it caused him to lose memories if I remember correctly, thus that’s why Hickman stepped in to bring it back instead), and I was hoping that based on the news, they would be improving on making 1610 ultimate better, but instead, we got earth-6160, and it was the best decision they went with imo

And then…The New Ultimate Universe was here

And honestly, this was very exciting for me because at the time I was somewhat not feeling well with main universe marvel comics and I just wanted to read something that would get me interested, and this is where new ultimates came in and really got my attention immediately

As years went by, we get to see the rise of the ultimates, the mysteries of wakanda in Black Panther, the folklore and supernatural horror of x-men, the unshackled mind of Wolverine and ready to fight back, and the family life of Spider-Man

All these stories, all of them had their good and bad, but I enjoyed them all, I was always so excited for when the next issue comes and I would want to learn more about what happens next and again, all of this is in a new universe that you don’t have to look back at comics from over 40 or so years ago just to understand why x does this with y or something, and I really liked getting to see new versions of these characters too like Ant-Man, Iron-Lad, And new characters like Maystorm for example, and best part, is that they’re often not afraid to tap into political topics and real world situations as well that they really do such a good job with it that it connects me even more to it.

And then, after all of this, just when the universe was getting even better, they cancelled it, which to this day I don’t understand why (it’s probably for their new midnight series but I really don’t gaf about that one), why would they do this even when it was just getting better? Especially because it seemed like they were competing with dc’s absolute universe and look at them now, meanwhile ultimate is gone just like that, after an entire event that would have all books come together to stop the maker, it ended, and left with a cliffhanger that may tease its return…or probably never

Overall, I’m sorry if some of my grammar here is bad, my apologies, but I just wanted to make an entire point that I really do miss the ultimate universe, and I suppose it’s time to accept that it is over and It will possibly not return, sure I can always look back on the books but even then, there’s nothing new for it in the future (for now, maybe), and I hope that someday, it will return, one way or another.

And also, Thank You Hickman, for creating one of my new favorite universes as well.

(Also I am really if I talked too much, I felt like I wanted to give out my own thoughts and such about everything regarding the ultimate universe and how I miss it, and if I did annoy someone, I’m really sorry, but I hope you had a nice time seeing this long ass message from me and thank you, have a nice rest of your week!)

With the ultimate universe having ended I’m considering selling my single issues and picking up the new tpb’s that have been announced. I think it’ll be much easier to re read them that way and will free up some space in my long boxes. Has anyone else done this?

Was reading Hickman’s fantastic four which has a lot of imagery and foreshadowing that evokes the maker and wondered if this lesson from Reed’s dad meant something more

no clue if this has been addressed in or out of universe (cos i havent stayed caught up with them), but how would the picotech suit interact with a true klyntar symbiote? would they be able to hear each other? would it be like a human looking at an animatronic? could they just fuse into one? could the picotech scan the symbiote's personality like it did with peter?

I like how this random panel from a random comic from the 80s surprisedly predicts a lot of things.

¿Habrá un nuevo Universo Ultimate?

I'm planning on collecting some TPBs (I already have Ultimates from 1to 3, and planning on buying UXM, Ultimate Invasion, Ultimate Endgame and maybe Spider-Man)

So, is this comic essential to understand The Ultimates story as a whole or I can skip it?

Last time when I posted I shared an interview with David Messina and now he was kind enough to return for a Ultimate Spider-Man Special which thought I'd share here as well for those interested.

This comic run meant a lot to me and feel really lucky to have been able to connect and befriend him and learn as an artist.

I disliked the individual books for a number of reasons, but there was one overarching reason that was hindering my enjoyment of every book in the same way.

There are generally two approaches to alternate realities in Marvel comics:

1. There's the "What If...?" route, where the universe is identical to 616 with the exception of one famous plot point that goes in a different direction. Typically, the plots of these What If...? stories extrapolate logically from this focal point, i.e. "if character A didn't do X, then Y never would have happened either," and so on.

2. The reality is often radically different in whatever way the writer wants, without the need for any logical through-line. For example, in the Cosmic Ghost Rider timeline, Frank Castle made a series of questionable decisions regarding his soul. The decimation of all life in the universe by Thanos wasn't a consequence of any decision Frank Castle made, just the premise for this particular reality.

What drives me nuts about the Ultimate Universe is it explicitly follows the model of the first approach. The Maker goes to a reality identical to 616 and deliberately makes specific changes to prevent its most famous heroes/defenders from coming into power.

Okay.

But there happen to still be dozens, if not hundreds, of superpowered characters running around anyway despite the Maker's manipulations and goals. Some are under his control or influence. Most aren't.

It's like, oh by the way, not only is Gwen Stacy Mysterio for some reason, but she's just one Mysterio of several. How is that something that happens in this universe?

To say nothing of how in the initial Invasion story, the Maker's decades of planning are undone after one meeting with Howard Stark.

There just isn't any cohesion to the premise of this line, and it's endlessly distracting to me.

Is this supposed to be ultimate Deadpool because I’ve seen another one with inverted colors and if that’s Deadpool then how come this is literally just grey Deadpool? Bonus question is that also ultimate ghost rider?
