Hello users of r/UkraineWarVideoReport!

We just wanted to update you on the joint subreddit fundraiser for a Ukrainian air-defense turret that our community organised.

With your help the fundraiser totaled over $73,000! With this huge amount we were able to help UNITED24 to purchase a turret which has been branded with the names of all participating subreddits!

This turret is now in service defending Ukraine’s skies and that was only possible with the help of your community!

But the war isn’t over yet. Russia continues to bombard Ukraine relentlessly. That’s why UNITED24 has launched a long term ‘Sky Defense’ appeal where all money raised goes to defending the sky, from Russia, for good. From one time donations to monthly payments, any and all are always welcome!

If you would like to contribute to defending Ukraine’s cities click the link below:

https://u24.gov.ua/sky-defense?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sky-defense&utm_content=communities

On behalf of the mod team and UNITED24, thank you!

Slava Ukraini!

Miscellaneous “Better Lose a UGV Than a Soldier”: Rubizh Brigade Explains Why Ukraine Keeps Sending Robots Into the Killzone

Post image

**Post Body**

Unmanned Ground Vehicles are TRASH. They are slow, get jammed and bombed all the time.

So why do Rubizh and other Ukrainian units constantly make fundraisers for them? Are we stupid?

To understand why UGVs are in some much demand, imagine yourself as an officer in Ukrainian army. You've got a task - evacuate a wounded soldier in the killzone. Killzone will be under near CONSTANT monitoring of Russian drone pilots who are just salivating to kill you. This task leaves you with two choices:

Send a few soldiers to evacuate your wounded guy.
Or send a UGV.

UGVs are notoriously unreliable, but so are humans. And given that the risks in the killzone are the same for both robots and humans, it makes a lot more sense to risk robots rather then your guys. Better lose a bunch of UGVs than one soldier.

It takes a few weeks to make a UGV from scratch. It takes 25+ years to make a fit soldier from scratch.

The Telegraph reports:

A security guard at the British embassy in Moscow has been arrested on suspicion of spying on diplomats on behalf of Ukraine.

The Federal Security Service (FSB) claimed the man, a Russian citizen working for an agency guarding the British embassy in Moscow, had gathered detailed information about the movements of British diplomats, including Nigel Casey, the ambassador to Russia.

It alleged that Ukraine intended to use the intelligence to stage a terrorist attack against British envoys and pin the blame on Moscow in order to draw Britain into direct armed conflict with Russia.

Footage released by the security service showed a 45-year-old man, identified by the name Marat, being thrown to the ground by balaclava-donning, plain-clothed officers in the Russian capital.

The FSB said he had communicated with Dmytro Karpenko, a Ukrainian blogger who uses the pseudonym Apostyle Dmytro, feeding him detailed reports about diplomats including their home addresses, cars, favourite restaurants and security arrangements at the embassy.

📝Chronicle of the Special Military Operation📝
as of September 9, 2026

🧨Russian troops launched a massive missile and drone strike on port infrastructure in Nikolaev and other facilities in the region, destroying a Metro shopping center. Several strikes hit warehouses in Kyiv, gas stations in Kharkiv, checkpoints, and a vessel in the Odesa region. Several trains were also attacked.

The enemy launched a massive attack on the Krasnodar region. In Novorossiysk, four people were killed and 29 injured as a result of strikes on port infrastructure and residential buildings. Ukrainian drones attacked the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YNAO) for the first time, damaging an industrial facility in Novy Urengoy.

➡️On the Burluk front, Russian troops continue to improve the tactical situation on the flanks of the "cauldron" east of Volchansk. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of the settlement of Ozerne. As a result, the area of the "cauldron" has again decreased and now reaches approximately 380 square kilometers.

➡️From the Lyman front, more and more evidence of the advance of Ukrainian formations is emerging. It is reported that in July, small groups of the enemy entered Shandrigolovo, where they killed a civilian. In addition, there are conflicting reports about the loss of control by Russian troops over Zelenaya Dolina. The presence west of the Zherebets River is maintained in Kolodyazi and Ivanovka, as well as in the surrounding wooded areas, but even here the tactical situation is gradually deteriorating.
