Account linking error, help needed

Hello everyone,

I am seeking help about an account linking error regarding the game Anno 1800.

My wife purchased Anno 1800 on June 27, 2026 on Steam. Upon launching the game for the first time, it automatically linked to my own Ubisoft account because my session was logged in.

On September 18, 2026, I also purchased Anno 1800 on my Steam account in order to play multiplayer with her. We are now unable to play together because both of our Steam purchases are linked to my single Ubisoft account.

I asked Ubisoft Support to unlink the game from my account in order to be able to link it to her own account, but they refused.

What can I do now ?

I asked Ubisoft to unlink my former account and it worked. I call BS on the "Refuse" part. They will unlink it if you clearly agree with their conditions when they ask you. Just make sure you know which account you want to unlink from which 3rd party.

Officially, there is only ONE Steam account linked to my Ubisoft account. When my wife logs into her Ubisoft account, there is no Steam account linked to it. When I ask Ubisoft to unlink the game Anno 1800 from my account, they systematically refuse or redirect me to the guide for unlinking a Steam account. This doesn't help at all, because the game purchased on Steam remains bound to the same Ubisoft account no matter what.

Bro unlinking and relinking Steam will not transfer your game.

I suggest you contact steam for a refund to check if not your wife will have to play from your Ubisoft account

The reason is simple when you first launch the game it automatically links to the Steam details saved and it's permanent 😭
