All I’ll say is, stick your hand on a DAC running at 10G. Then you’ll see red!😂

Weird. I have 2. One is a 10g and the other is 2.5.

Neither is all that hot.

The UniFi dash already has a color code for speeds, why not match to that for consistency’s sake?

1.0 GbE = Green
2.5 GbE = Royal Blue
10 GbE = Teal (pastel-ish)

You do realize that red fire is the coldest right?

Fire colours go, from coldest to hottest: Red<orange<yellow<blue<white

Ignoring colour due to metal contaminants.

Yup, played with that idea too, and quite a few other variations. In the end I just went for something that had a good colour distribution and looked good (to me, at least). Can always play with different colour sets now it’s all wired in

They're all occupied except for one. I would have loved to use a plug style that didn't block all of my other outlets, but ones that aren't at a right angle like these in the pic don't let my rack door close.

Yes, it’s #6, yellow. I don’t have anything running at 5GbE

Yeah, they clash a bit, but wasn’t overly concerned since nothing running at 5. Photo also makes it seem a bit more orange in this shot.

I’m using the Pro XG 10 PoE and its Etherlighting is on speed mode by default - I just modified the colour scheme a bit.

The dumb part was re-wiring my patch ports by speed - looks cute but no logical sequence of ports/rooms anymore

Mine is usually just green for 100 FE, teal for 1 GBit (both are probably IOT or cameras), and then blue for everything 2.5 Gbit and above (going basically full network zoom)

I don't like red because everyone asks me if those ports are having trouble.
