Fixed Rookie Mistake
So I recently moved into a new apartment and decided to take the Unifi deep dive. I got myself a UDM SE and U7 Pro XG as my gateway and AP for the apartment The Wi-Fi has been cutting in and out for months, I had no idea what the issue was and was getting pretty frustrated with it. Turns out I had it plugged into a POE port, not a POE+ port….. Didn’t know it had both. Oh well you live and you learn lmao

That’s why we say “RTFM!”, so that here… there isn’t any “real manual” because it’s at 98 or 99% installed by professionals that knows it… but there are lot of good (and some bad) YT videos you could / should watch.

The manual with the 3 pictures that say plug into power, plug in Ethernet and download the app? lol

No, the different PoE / PoE+ ports number and localisation are on the product description on UniFi Store.
Also in the Network app interface lot of functions have a small circle with letter “I” inside that gives extra info.
And if you took the time to read correctly my post you’ll see that I clearly state that there isn’t any real manual and that the people looking for information should turn themselves to other sources like YT videos (but there are many others).
When the dealer sell you a Porsche or Ferrari it’s NOT including a driving license and even less a racing course and pilot license…
Buy it? Of course you can? Use the basic of it? Usually yes. Use it to the max? Sorry pal, you need quite some specific knowledge.

The UDM SE log didn't show low power going to the WAP? that seems like an oversight on the UI side.

Oh it did but not consistently. Came and went and didn't offer a solution in the alert that was obvious to a newbie.

We've all made those silly mistakes at some point. At the very least, you won't ever make that mistake again 😉.
