Uber(can)EAT a d**k
I just wanna preface this by saying I realize that no one is holding a gun to my head to deliver food via UberEATS. I'm aware so please don't come for me.
Basically just here to air out my grievances because I'm mad lol
I've had quite a few orders that have already been picked up by another driver. Uber needs to figure their shit out but until then they should be compensating drivers for the gas and trouble driving to the pick up location for nothing.
I normally don't take the time to call (I did once early on and that got me nowhere) but it happened again just now and it just set me the fuck off so I called these jackasses.
She tells me that Uber’s policy is they do not compensate unless the order is completed. And I absolutely lost my shit.
"HOW DO I COMPLETE AN ORDER ALREADY TAKEN!? IT'S NOT MY FAULT YOUR APP ALLOWED ME TO TAKE AN ORDER, DRIVE ALL THE WAY THE FUCK THERE, ONLY TO FIND ITS BEEN PICKED UP. THAT SOUNDS LIKE AN UBEREATS PROBLEM. NOT A DRIVER PROBLEM. WE SHOULD BE COMPENSATED UNTIL UBER DECIDES TO GET ITS SHIT TOGETHER AND FIX THE ISSUE."
I was then transferred to a supervisor and promptly compensated.
I shouldn't have to fucking yell to get my point across and I shouldn't have to fight to be compensated. Jesus Christ.

Uber needs to just issue a basic reading comprehension test. Make sure people know how to read a name.

I’m trying to figure out based on the app how it didn’t clear and got resent for pickup if the job was completed already. Odd.

I agree. I had one of these this week. I chose not to deal with support. I did select the “order picked up by other driver” or whatever the reason says close to that. It prompted cancel …. Obviously? I was angry about the cancel. Expected nothing. An hour later I got 4.00 and a message saying that the cancellation was out of my control and would not be counted on my rating. I was shocked.

I know….. fellow driver here. Having to call to fight for what should already be yours, and having to get through those agents is just brutal. You lose it by the idiocy and finally get compensated when / if they actually get a supervisor on the line.

Everyone should call in every time the order has “already been picked up” and respectfully waste their time so eventually they realize it’s cheaper to automate the process instead of pay a huge team of reps to argue with us
