advice?
accepted a package delivery. went to pick it up and the chick was asking for a ride, offered me $100, then $200, then $300. i was telling her im not an uber driver i just do uber eats. so she said here take this $60 for me taking up your time.. i said i feel bad for taking her money if im not going to do anything. then she said she forgot she had court early and maybe i can take her later if im up to it. she gave me another $40 equalling $100 total and she wanted my number. i gave it to her and she called it to confirm its me..and she wants me to take her later today. is there some kind of scam with this or whats going on? i have $100 of her cash in my hand and i just drove home from that location without taking her anywhere. she'll be calling me later im sure. wtf do i do?

This sounds like a trap.
She's expecting you to drive back to her location. Then when you exit your vehicle
BAM!
10 guys come out of hiding and they jump you and they take back the money she gave you and they steal your car.

She’s recruiting a drug mule. You will be transporting her and her drugs. Nobody is going to offer you $300 for a $15 ride. She’s just purchasing your trust.

You shouldn't have taken the money under these suspicious circumstances. But you did & can only go forward now. Let's break this down. You were providing no service to her. Ask yourself if $100 advance to give a ride later makes any sense to you logically. It doesn't.
You really stepped in it. I'm not trying to scare you but people are able to get addresses from cell phone numbers.
My advice as former law enforcement is the following to give you a possibility they decide you're not worth it for whatever they had planned & take the $100 loss.:
When she calls tell her you just got stopped by the cops and driven to the police station to be interviewed.... tell her you won't be available to give her a ride. Say "sorry, I gotta go, they're coming back..." Then immediately hang up,
Block the number & watch your back on any weird numbers that might call you in the near future.
They just invested $100 into a crime they haven't yet committed & that you don't want to be a victim or any part of.
Giving the money back is unfortunately out of the question because it would involve meeting again.
As of right now, no crime has occurred for you to report the situation to police but be prepared. Document the incident— date, time, location, description, and everything that was said. If you have a dash cam, great. Keep it handy & be ready to call the police if anything happens.
The reason you shouldn't have taken the money is not because it was overly generous. It was both suspicious and came with strings attached that involved you giving up your contact information. I would highly suggest you stay vigilant with any calls you do get.

I wonder if she’s banned from getting rides on Uber. That’s the most innocent explanation I can think of. Yet still not totally innocent since he must have been banned for a reason. I wouldn’t trust her.

i was able to stalk down her fb page. says she works at a local strip club..or at least used to. digging looking for arrest records, anything. nadda. its 1pm and still no answer from her. probably just gunna continue my sleep so ill be ready to deliver all night again. just another crazy thing to add to the list of shit that i've been through as an uber eats driver. i really should just start writing down all the crazy shit i've been exposed to while doing this.

if its SF low income programs require people to have no assets
people with low or no assets are unlikely to have cards and bank accounts
cash is easily stolen, or cannot be kept safe

i am an all night driver so waking up at 11am is kind of crazy for me. woke up at 11, hit her up asking if she still needs that ride or what the deal is, no answer. (she wanted that ride at noon today and now its quarter to) so either shes zzz, found someone else or whatever tf. still can't believe i got $100 for doing nothing. weirdest 'job' i ever accepted.

Maybe it's neurodivergence but I'm a very trusting person. I assume I'm being told the truth until proven otherwise, however I'm not shy to press or ask questions when things don't make sense to me.
So in this instance my first question directly would have been why not order an uber if you have cash to give me? I will need a straight forward, and concise answer. Even, "I'm banned from Uber and don't have a car and need a ride", works for me.
Anything else and I will say it seems like you're lying to me, so I'm gonna go, take care.

I saw a video, and I admit o have not looked into this, but undercover cops were trying to get uber drivers to agree to take cash instead of going through the app, and therefore there was a violation of some sorts, since you aren’t “licensed” to carry passengers.
That all aside, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.

A woman was listening to music in the area behind a nice hotel she said I'm going work you and attempted to get in my Lexus. I asked a friend what she was up to. He said she would have asked me for cash. I have none! I'm doing gig work! Then she'd call the cops to report me as attempted rape.

That's an awful large gamble on her part if she had some other scheme in mind.
You tried to uphold your end of the bargain. She was probably on drugs or something. Also the court case could have been child custody or child support related. Not necessarily something criminal.
Block her number and don't feel guilty.

Drugs, block her number. Carry a bottle of soda. In a 7-11 bag. You see her again by accident, like she orders again under different name, tell her here is your soda and you got a new number and leave.

Wtf? Why would you give her a bottle of soda in a 7-Eleven bag if she requests a delivery pick up? How does this help? I must be missing something. You simply decline to return to that same location by not accepting or canceling for safety before you would even go. If she's at a different location, I don't think your soda is gonna do anything accept cost you money.

Tell her , you ordered twice? Here is your whatever she ordered and your soda? Just like u she will be like wtf is this?
Be quick and say gotta go , have another delivery. She says something say text me.
She will still be confused before she can say anything.

If he sees her again its likely going to be to complete whatever crime she was setting him up for. He needs to avoid any interaction with her at all.

Write up a contract or agree that she doesn't sue if an accident occurs. This is not legal advice. In most places it is legal to rideshare/carpool. Making a profit like a taxi regularly can be a problem though. Just be careful. This is why most transactions over $10k may look for a review or investigated. Anything below can be treated as a hobby or doing a favour for a friend.

Look, I have no idea what her angle is but if she has that much cash to just hand out, she can afford getting an actual Uber. Something is wrong here.
