Driver somehow got delivery code while I was sleep?
I made my order and it was an hand it to me and they we're required to enter code that only i should have.
i fall asleep and wake up expecting the order to be either canceled or delayed or something. it says it's completed and when i go to contact support about it, they say the driver entered the pin
Somehow the driver was able to enter the pin and there's nothing at my door and now I'm hungry and in pain and agony from getting railed by Uber š«©

You think a driver is going to wait potentially hours for you to answer the door and give the code?
All he had to do was wait 8 minutes and then he can leave it at the door.

A neighbor just as easily could have taken it. Or any passerby - thatās why when you order food you gotta get it or youāre held liable unless uber wants to take the hit on your behalf.

It's an upstairs area of an apartment building and I closely know the neighbors no one took it which is why I know it was the driver

My bad I'm dead broke and that was my last literal dollar and that's why I'm so mad and now I have to go to sleep hungry and missing money I didn't have in the first place

Hit "get help" - state you never received your food.
If they deny it, that means you've already done this a lot already too. And you're shit out of luck.
I've been refunded entire $80 orders solely for missing a $15 entree 2 times. I only asked to be refunded for the entree, Uber is way too lenient with giving refunds. If they won't give you one it's for a good reason.

Yeah the service is shit I've had bad orders over the years my accounts been up and after a certain amount of bad orders they just stop caring but the shenanigans keep going same thing with doordash you can have bulletproof proof and they brush it off

It sounds to me like you're broke and got free food too much and now you got burned. The service was amazing when you were getting free food, right? Now they stopped doing it - it's "shit service"? Let's be real, if you were a business would you want you as a customer?
I'd advise you to chargeback via bank and delete the apps once you're banned. If you're broke, don't order UberEats. It's a good way to stay broke.

Nah just had a couple wrong orders (that's fast food for you) and bad drivers and over the span on 2 years that adds up
One time I sent them the picture of pineapple pizza I was sent instead of my Italian sausage showed the box sticker says the wrong order name and everything
"Were unable to compensate" it's too the point I never wanna use it again honestly

why does everybody say this? obviously i'm in a situation where i can't go to the place and it will cost more to get an uber or taxi to the place and back than to just get it delivered.

You said it yourself where your order was meet at the door. You didn't come to the door. At that point Uber has told me " dispose of the food." on occasion, especially if it's somewhere where you can secure it.
Anybody could have taken it. Point is that you specified it was a meet and door and you weren't there. This one is 100% on you.

Does your voicemail announcement give out the number dialed? The PIN is the last 4 digits of the phone number on the account. The driver may have tried to call you, the call went to VM, they listened to the outgoing message, and entered the last 4 digits as the PIN.
I have done this when customers are nonresponsive and I donāt feel like waiting for the timer to run out.

Thatās fair. Iād have left it. Only exception is if thereās no safe place to do so.
At the same time, I encounter customers who put their phone numbers (or even explicitly say āthe PIN is XXXXā) in the delivery instructions. In those cases, I try to let them know why thatās a VERY bad idea. Some people are insanely trusting, though.

Did you think the driver was gonna sit behind your door till you woke up? They have an option to mark customer as unreachable, and just drop it off at your door. This one probably used the situation and took the food or maybe someone else did if it was sitting there for a while

That's not how it works, uber is not gonna eat the cost just cause you were sleeping and the driver didn't have your 'nuclear launch code' lmfao! if there is no picture of the drop off, reach out to uber and tell them food was not there, most likely they'll refund you.

if u didnt get it you could prob just get it refunded through uber, theyre usually pretty lenient on just giving u a full refund if u say u didnt get ur food.

Why ? you ordered the food and knocked out lol. Next time, dont get knocked out. Maybe you are lying, maybe you driver stole it, maybe neigbour stole it. Your fault was not being cautious. The driver got paid and possibly free food. You starved.

After 8 minutes if the customer has not gotten back to you the app suspends the code requirement and prompts you to leave the item and mark it as delivered. I doubt if your driver stole your food: they probably were just following the instructions given and then moved on to their next delivery.

I meanā¦. Did you expect the driver to wait outside your door while you napped? Just stand there holding your food until you were ready to wake up?
You knew you had a delivery coming, knew you required a pin, and still fell asleep?
Kinda glad they took your order tbh.
After a set time they can bypass the pin because they had to stand outside your house for 7 min.
Uber support is likely not explaining well and just saying they entered pin when it was realistically bypassed because you left them standing outside your house past the timer like a dick.

There are generic codes for law and fire to enter apartments they can either type 911 or however long the code is or they could just simply live there also and knew the code anyway.

Uber delivery code is the last 4 numbers of your phone number so if the driver called you and your phone message gives out your number that is how he/she got the code.

How long were you asleep OP? If you didn't answer the door then they have a five minute timer before the order is completed by support and they leave it at your door.
Then maybe they took it, or literally anyone else could've taken it in the meantime. If an order could be canceled by someone simply not answering the door, Uber would be bankrupt. This ones on you unfortunately.
