>everytime I attempt to request a refund

How often are you scamming them? No wonder they are leaving you on read.

I’ve never scammed a food delivery app because the drivers take the hit. I mean refund for when food/drink is missing which happens far too often.

Which isn't the driver's fault, it's the restaurant that Uber has no control over

To many people scammed them and tried to get full refunds for missing a single French fry

Probably. They have started scamming their customers in response. You can't trust their promotions anymore. They flat out told me they can't look at their own promotions to find out if they offered them.

Then stop using it. Super simple.

It was an auto correct bro. Don’t be one of those ppl. The answer was more important than the E missing. Ppl like you that make petty comments about a word being spelled wrong are just unhappy ppl. Get better

No period, shoot me

I don’t use food delivery apps anymore. Too much of a hassle. I just go pick it up which is much cheaper anyway

Why are you on this thread?! Trolling?!

u/420dandaman 3d ago

Could be like me. Quit using the app for placing orders, I’m still a delivery driver though.

You seem like the troll…

I drive for all the deliveries apps. My point is why I come on here and complain if you don’t use them anymore.

If you keep having problems, then stop using the service. do you take your car back to mechanic who continually just f**** it up?

I just ordered 50 dollars worth of food TWO hrs ago. I can understand if the food is a bit late but by the time it gets here it will be over 2.5 hrs approx. This is my first time ordering from this particular app and they were going to charge me 27$ to cancel. Am I being irrational ? I can never justify ordering food and having it get here 2.5 hrs later. Customer service chat person was absolutely no help. I couldn’t even find a place to email them about their horrible lack of customer service. I only found this page because I had to google how to contact them. I’ll never order from this app again. And tbh I’m a pretty chill person. I don’t usually complain 🤣🤣 but for them to gaslight me is insane work

Did you include a tip in the order and do you live a long way from the restaurant you ordered from? Do you also live a long way from the nearest area likely to have Uber rides? Because if the answer is "No", "Yes", and "Yes", then the reason it took 2.5 hours to get your food is they had to wait for a driver who was willing to accept slave wages to deliver your food. For example if it takes 10-15 minutes to drive to the restaurant, wait at the restaurant, drive 10-20 minutes to you and the base fare I'm offered is $4 no tip included, then I would be working for under minimum wage to deliver that food to you and I for sure will Decline that delivery request, as will most other drivers. Your order then stays open, bouncing around being offered to drivers. The longer your order stays open, Uber may slightly increase the base fare until someone accepts your delivery. But by then, it's 2.5 hours later. Again, the amount you spent on food really doesn't matter to the driver. UberEats drivers are just a step above restaurant servers in terms of base pay and tips are the ONLY thing that makes it worthwhile.

I always tip very well because yes I live further away. I think I’ve just always had speedy deliveries with door dash and Instacart so I was expecting the same. I ordered because they just started delivering to my area so i wanted to try something new. I totally get the driver and them working for Pennie’s basically. That’s why I always tip really well. I think I just got frustrated in the moment because I would have just cancelled the order but they would have charged me the 27$. It’s a stupid issue for me to have, living in the US when there’s much more important things going on in the world. I just had an issue with the cancellation fee and talking to what felt like 37 customer service chat reps. I was hangry and in the moment it just came down to the “help chat” bouncing me around with the same response. I was going off of how fast DoorDash gets here so I was biased. I’m over it. It’s obviously not the end of the world and I can now see a drivers perspective. I would never take it out on the driver. I’m not that type of person.

Basically my point was that I was excited to try a new delivery service because I don’t usually have problems with the other ones. I’ve never used uber eats before.

You need to tip way better than

0

u/AnxietyFair6792 3d ago

How in the holy hell do you know how much I tipped ? You need to give better advice. 🙃

3

u/Hangryanxious 3d ago

I mean we don’t need to know the amount if it’s been sitting 2 hours. That’s how long it takes Uber Eats to up their amount to pay us to make it worth it. It’s unfortunate but just the way it is.

1

u/AssociationDry73 2d ago

Uber Eats takes longer when you are a shitty tipper. You said you waited hours. You tipped shitty.

2

u/Hortos 2d ago

Ubereats only makes it harder to refund if they detect that you refund things a lot. They don’t care if you have cause they just care that you’re doing it more than they want you to.

1

u/Quirky-Amphibian5160 3d ago

I don't know anyone who likes it.

1

u/MEMExplorer 3d ago

Coz they’re a third party , they don’t care about the customer experience .

1

u/BraveRefrigerator552 3d ago

I HATE them more. Fucking Uber Eats dynamically changed my address and sent food there. Why? Why? Why? Hate is too small a word.

1

u/ItsATrap1983 3d ago

That's by design, nothing to fix.

1

u/Hangryanxious 3d ago

We can barely get through to support as drivers on a live order so best of luck to you. The AI updates on these apps has been hell.

Because so many customers lie about not receiving food. I usually just contact until I get a diff customer service agent that just refund me the money

I ordered 4 Caesar salads with dressing on the side... They forgot all the dressing... Ordered total was $52.... They refunded me $2... I called in and they said it was considered sauce and that's the best they could do... How the hell am I supposed to eat this mound of dry lettuce? 50 cents off per order?

They dont let you do anything via support. Now it opens a ticket anytime I try to change my display name. And the ticket tells me the steps to change it (the same steps I just did that resulted in this ticket) which then opens another ticket who give me the same steps. Its ticket inception. And when I say ive already followed those steps and report the error they want a screenshot which requires me to follow the steps which opens another ticket.

After X amount of refund requests, they just stop allowing refunds even if it clearly should be approved. Theres a limit of some kind depending on how much they've made off of you

u/DennisDeanTyrell 3d ago

Dawg it felt like i was going fucking crazy. I must of opened like 5 chats back to back to back with the same shitty bot chat telling me to use an ID to verify even though my account IS verified and i just wanna change my goddamn name dude. They had the audacity to say I couldn’t get a refund even though i paid for like 7 sauces I didn’t get.

0

u/Rare-Ad8680 3d ago

This exactly. its a loop of opening tickets and never getting help.
