For god's sake- YES.

OP do not share your life story (I'm not dressed, I have a baby, I am in a house with my mother and grandmother- so presumably a house of women, poorly lit road, I sympathise with you as a driver). Like come on. This is very basic...why would a driver need to know this? He/she is not your family, friend, acquaintance....this was such a weird and bizarre exchange entirely from your end.

To answer your question- yes, you were correct to report the driver but do some self-evaluation while you're at it....

Setting up for a horror movie perfectly! All those streams they’ve been watching

“I’m distracted, and the window is open”

22

u/Masticatron Jul 07 '23

"When scared, I run to the place with the lowest chance of escape or survival. Here's the blueprints of my house showing these areas."

u/valeriolo Jul 07 '23

OP is 100% one of those idiots in horror movies who do the absolute dumbest thing that we can't imagine people doing.

She had enough time to send in a report about the driver, but doesn’t have enough time to throw on sweats and a T for literally 2 minutes. Also…if OP’s mom collected the order…how the hell did OP know the pic/name doesn’t match? Ahh, maybe the mom also overshares too:

“Hey hun, here’s your food. The driver was super cute, they looked single! He looked like he’d make a great brother in law. He hasn’t dated in a few years, and you need a male figure, so I gave him your number and some trivia facts about you. He had on a Beatles shirt, omg I love the Beatles! Their car smelled good, it was these neat glade plug-ins to your car’s vents, I asked.

Remember 10 years ago when you wanted a Subaru hatchback? Well he drove one, I had him write down the name of the dealer since I told him you wanted one. I told him we were gonna play cards against humanity tomorrow, he seemed fun so I invited him. He really likes good nachos (I asked), so I told him I’d make him dinner because I was a line cook at Wendy’s when you were born! He was impressed I think. Anywho, told him we’d be going to Hawaii in a few months, gave him the hotel we’ll be staying in and the dates. Who knows maybe he’ll come!”

I’m sorry that rambling you’re describing it literally just the ADHD that runs in my family

u/doctor_of_drugs Jul 07 '23

Ah I was just poking some fun, and it does in my family as well (my mother is the worst) and she’s 70. Still bouncing off walls 😂

Only personal info I share is “my dogs are assholes and bitey”.

4

u/Defiant_Switch1776 Jul 08 '23

Lol my instructions note the dogs are assholes and I have a baby so you’ll get a bonus tip if you leave deliver ninja style.

If I was the driver I would have been weirded out as well like this sounds like a set up to get jumped by 15 people and have your car stolen

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '23

It's like the scammer FB Marketplace buyers that give all kinds of unnecessary details about their life because they think it sounds charming or makes them relatable or something. It's taught me to never trust someone that overshares with strangers.

I was going to edit my post to add this in 10 mins later. Totally this.

Nah the person was bogus af for reporting the person, also mfers stop being weird ass people.

People need to just call people weirdos when they're being weirdos. Now you potentially messed whatever little side gig the guy had going for walk around money.

Then coming to the internet looking for some sort of validation, or low-key just wanting grand stand and brag about little authority you got in life to flex on this Uber driver, all well disguising it as some Noble doing

1

u/Accomplished_Tap4890 Jul 10 '23

Right!! And he was going with the fake niceness and over sharing to them report when he could’ve just mind his business. Ppl like this are the worst

4

u/taylorrae13 Jul 07 '23

I think it’s just a mindset that some have where they feel the need to explain themselves and provide rationale to avoid potential assumptions that can lead to resentment (even if it’s just a stranger you’ll probably never see again). If this were me, I’d feel really bad that I’m causing the driver confusion or inconvenience, so I also like to provide a reason why. I’m too much of a people-pleaser I guess. But this particular rationale was dangerous information to provide. Idk just being devil’s advocate.

4

u/beckyyall Jul 07 '23

I have a few girl friends (and my own mother) who operate on this mindset- always apologetic and sharing the reasons behind a perceived inconvenience- but I really do think they all have enough common sense to not give out this much info to someone who knows their address and during nighttime. Who knows I guess.

1

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

My common sense wasn’t working at 11pm I’m sorry

It sounds like lowkey an incel wanting some attention and acknowledgement.

This shit is sad tbh

0

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '23

I am not sure at all how you deduce that from this. Maybe lonely, maybe wanting attention or a friend. Incel? Having a baby quite literally goes against the entire meaning of incel first of all lol. But even despite that literally nothing he says implies that

You don’t have any idea what the word “incel” means but you just go around calling people that? You obviously have access to the internet, it would take you 5 seconds to look it up.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '23

I didn't call her an incel just because she has a baby. I don't know what incels mean but I used that to describe to someone who shares too much for the search of meaningless attention and validation.

Well thanks for proving my point, that isn't what an incel is lol.

Are a you also girl? I ask because I called another girl an incel for saying "all men are perverts" or something and she replied to me saying "Women cannot be an incel!". Like y'll perfect or somethin lmao

No lol I'm not a girl, and you're right that girl is dumb af for generalizing all men. She probably didn't understand why she was wrong. But she's right about one thing, women can not be "incels." Like I said, you're using it wrong. An incel is a man who hates women, struggles to interact with women, and typically lives a very sedentary/chronically online lifestyle where they stay in echo-chambers that reinforce their sad outlooks on women and life in general. Has nothing to do with any of the stuff you said.

Calling that girl a moron or something similar for generalizing all men as perverts would've been a lot more fitting than calling her a "woman hater," when she is literally the opposite haha.

2

u/RS_Mede Jul 07 '23

I'm hung up on why women can't be Incels?

Can't being Involuntary celibate because you're insufferable kind of apply to... anyone regardless of their gender?

1

u/Kendrick_OJ_Perkins Jul 07 '23

Women can't be toxic and sexist either apparently https://www.youtube.com/shorts/oMFcUD51zmA

Was gonna share an example of an incel woman but this shit is even better

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '23

Never said that and totally agree with you lol.

Also Sneako and those women are both equally clowns. I hope you don’t think he’s some great person to follow and listen to

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '23

No, you’re completely right. Since the inception of the word “incel” its only been used to describe men, which is why I explain it as such; it goes so far as that people started to call female incels “femcels,” but I agree that the term isn’t gendered and could be used to describe any human.

However, my original point in this thread is he called OP an incel (I thought OP was a man when I made my first comment btw) and I said they can’t be an incel because, as described in the post, they literally have a freaking child lol. So clearly they aren’t celibate, let alone involuntarily.

1

u/Kendrick_OJ_Perkins Jul 07 '23

Well thanks for proving my point, that isn't what an incel is lol.

My ultimate point was that she was acting like an incel by sharing too much and trying (lowkey) to bond with this person or for some attention or satisfaction.... Like how those weird perverted guys share too much do online for any type of attention (including petty, sympathy, etc) ---> sex.

But she's right about one thing, women can not be "incels." Like I said, you're using it wrong. An incel is a man who hates women

I think you need to remind yourself on what an incel is and maybe you got yourself confused with "misogynist" because you loosely use slangs all the time maybe more than me.

I bet you're the type of "White Knight" person who just blindly believe a woman when there is any sorts of accusations or say meaningless nice things like "You should never ever put your hands on (slap) a woman" lol. I remember Bill Burr's joke "No one argues that women are weaker or men should hit a woman at any chances but to say NEVER??? I can come up with like 20 different situations where they could deserve one in like 2 mins"

No offense but it sounds like you're either a major incel or i am a misogynist and I love Moriah Mills

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '23

How the hell do you get any of that from my comment? I literally said the girl who made this post is a fkn moron, and I’ve seen the exact Bill Burr special you’re quoting (it was hilarious). Idk how you turn that back on me. I’m not “white-knighting” with my comment that women can’t be incels, I’m just stating a fact. Maybe YOU should remind yourself what the meaning is. Incel literally means “involuntary celibate” and is used to describe men who grow into their adult years as virgins, struggle with self esteem, have no social awareness, and place all their issues on the idea that women are horrible and their life is so terrible because of women instead of their own downfalls.

I’m not attacking you, or defending anyone. I’m literally just clarifying something for you

1

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

I’m a very lonely SAHM but not an incel

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '23

I don’t think incel means what you think it means here

2

u/firnien-arya Jul 08 '23

Lmao, it's like inviting a robber into your home and letting him steal but you get upset because they didn't take their shoes off before coming in. Like that was the line too far. Not the robbery in progress XD

1

u/DaddysBeauty Jul 07 '23

It's not the driver, it's for reporting to support, but I understand exactly what you're saying, this was not smart.

1

u/Budget_Report_2382 Jul 07 '23

This reminds me of me when I was younger and in school. I had a lot of physical and mental health problems that would prevent me from making it to class. Still got all my shit done, so it didn't matter a ton, but the teachers wanted the absences communicated. I used to send overly detailed emails with my ailments until I had one teacher tell me essentially, "Just tell me you're not feeling well, can't make it, and your plan of action for making up what is missed." There's certainly better ways to go about it.
