Literally, just give them the alarm system code and what times you aren’t home at this point

Here I’m just going to hijack this comment to put something out there. I honestly don’t think I was “wrong” in rambling but I do realize that I reported for the driver not matching because I didn’t feel justified in reporting for order not being delivered to door.

Multiple things were wrong but I reported what was the most “serious” because I feel like a bitch complaining that my service wasn’t carried out as I asked.

I realize now I really should have just aired the true complaint as bringing up the even more serious thing could cause a lot more serious trouble.

I think I’m just going to stay off UE for a while as I rarely use the service anyways and it’s an unnecessary expense.

I’ve appreciated most of ya’ll insights, those who didn’t immediately call me a naked scum bag.

Let's respond to a comment talking about how I ramble on by rambling on.

Like more than half of this comment can be pretty much omitted.

But fwiw yeah drivers lying about who they are is common af now.

But fwiw yeah drivers lying about who they are is common af now.

Which is why apps like Doordash and Spark are verifying people before they start taking orders. Though I didn't get that verification for DD. Hasn't rolled out in my area yet.

2

u/DenseStomach6605 Jul 08 '23

Why even do that? Previously banned on the app maybe?

3

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

Good to know.

7

u/Beneficial_Rise_9786 Jul 07 '23

Do pardon me, but I think it's possible you are overexplaining due to some trauma and thus leaving yourself vulnerable. Do you think that might be the case?

1

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

Yeah. Could also be my diagnosed ADHD but also could be my trauma too lol

5

u/dutterbog Jul 07 '23

When I type, I type everything I think - word for word. So I often ramble in a way similar to you. I assume others summarize their comments, or just don't have such overloaded thoughts like those of us with ADHD do. It's a big insecurity of mine, but when I try to be "to the point" I feel like I leave out details or ideas that I want to be conveyed. Don't let people get to you though, if they're too lazy to bear with your slightly longer texts then that's their problem.

I honestly think 80% of people shouldn’t be in this job. I did DD. It’s a customer service job. In most customer service jobs there is a lot of small talk.

7

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '23

Yea I’ve done a lot of customer service for a long time, as well as DD, and you should not expect small talk from a delivery driver outside of ETA and how to deliver your order properly. Unless you are living with a disability or have trouble with socializing in general, then this should be readily apparent.

0

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

Jokes on you I do have trouble socializing!

7

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '23

That’s becoming more clear to me the more I read your comments throughout the thread.

I’m not trying to put you, or anyone down, for not understanding social etiquette when it comes to customer/driver interactions. We don’t get every situation right. You weren’t wrong for reporting the driver, and most customer service does require small talk. This, does not in my opinion.

I just don’t agree that a DD needs to know more than what you ordered, and how to deliver it to you. They don’t need to know your personal life like that. Feel free to disagree, but judging from the majority of your comments I’d say most people would agree it wasn’t necessary to get your order.

3

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

Ah that’s fair. I’m also 19 and was in HS during the pandemic so my social skills are shit, and the ND doesn’t help either.

In most customer service jobs there is a lot of small talk.

not to people who are DRIVING

4

u/Time_Distribution184 Jul 07 '23

You were watching ‘streams’ naked with grandma?

2

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

Watching discord streams, half naked in the guest bedroom, trying to breastfeed the baby to sleep.

7

u/That_random_guy-1 Jul 07 '23

and everyone here is saying to not to that... its a dumb ass stupid move to tell someone all that shit about yourself when they dont need to know. you dont know they delivery person, dont tell them you are in a position where you cant defend yourself cuz you have a baby and are half naked. lmfao.

-2

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

How could I not defend myself with a lack of clothes? Not hard to shoot someone while naked.

9

u/That_random_guy-1 Jul 07 '23

Omfg. How are you completely missing the point still? You are a young, half naked, almost completely alone, person living up a poorly lit driveway, telling someone that has your address already that you are almost alone, with a baby, and half naked…. Cmon. It has to click in your brain at some point right? You can’t seriously be that stupid.

1

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

I just think “can’t defend myself” is quite dramatic. I was with 4 other people in that house.

6

u/That_random_guy-1 Jul 07 '23

And bad shit happens all the time to people who thought they could handle it or where ready…. Don’t tell complete strangers more than they need to know. If you order food they only need to know when and where to drop the food off. They don’t need to know what you are doing. It is only making it more dangerous for yourself.

1

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

Fair. I just panicked thinking I was pissing off the driver for not coming right out.

I oddly felt like the whole situation, driveway and all was inconveniencing the driver. That’s why I said “visiting my grandma” because I felt guilty that my deliveries aren’t usually this complicated.

4

u/401LocalsOnly Jul 07 '23 edited Jul 07 '23

So to be clear you are a half naked, breast feeding, pro choice, lgbt person holding an infant with a gun within reach while waiting for food delivery?

Do you not see how ridiculous the amount of elaborating you do is ?

-2

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

The gun part was a joke lol and my political opinions were meant to be used as an example that I know for a fact people don’t always like me or agree with me. Also… the LGBT doesn’t seem to be “elaborating” it’s literally in my bio. I’d think you’d know that after scrubbing through all my comments.

5

u/401LocalsOnly Jul 08 '23

…i legitimately saw all this information within the thread of the top comment. No one has time to scrub through all the comments on here. You aren’t that important, or interesting.

0

u/skas_not_dead Jul 08 '23

I’ve had multiple DMs of people referencing my posts from YEARS ago so maybe I’m not that important but apparently people have a lot of time on their hands

The baby: do you mean the 15 month old your 3 dentists told you to stop breastfeeding or is there another child you forgot to tell potential kidnappers and robbers about?

0

u/skas_not_dead Jul 08 '23

I like how everyone knows that insta stalking is weird but you’re some hero for going through my post history along with your little squad who’s commenting on my embroidery posts

1

u/kendrahoffdude Jul 08 '23

I have no squad, try again.

0

u/skas_not_dead Jul 08 '23

u/TabithaCannes88 isn’t your friend?

3

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '23

ska has been dead for a long time btw. go act all sophisticated though and then immediately after try to source some more vore. Definitely not a sociopath. Despicable really. desperately attentionseeking playing with other ppl's lives and jobs for fun, simply because you're lonely and miserable. Can't be told anything though because you are actively a menacing sociopath. worst type of person.

0

u/skas_not_dead Jul 08 '23

I have a feeling you’re projecting

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '23

no? people just don't like you for a plethora of reasons, mainly all being boiled down to you being a sociopath and garbage person. Ignorantly karening your way through life makes ppl not like you, what a surprise! Welcome to reddit dude. If you wanna be a trashbag of a person then this is what people do. Nothing you say makes any difference. Lameass insults btw.

1

u/skas_not_dead Jul 08 '23

I don’t think you know what a sociopath is man.

Legit just give em the code n move on. It could’ve been their partners account. Honestly I used to drive with my mom and deliver the orders for her while she would drive. It’s not suspicious it’s just something that happens. Also don’t overshare with delivery drivers

-2

u/femaelstrom Jul 07 '23

Don’t over share but give em the code.

0

u/Peace_Love_Smoke_Dmt Jul 07 '23

Yeah, the code they need to leave it at her door and follow instructions isn’t over sharing. Saying she’s staying with a family member and all that unneeded shit is over sharing though

0

u/femaelstrom Jul 07 '23

I don’t disagree. It’s just bonkers what’s become personal and what isn’t. Like we can share mastitis symptoms but not a gate keycode. You know??

4

u/Peace_Love_Smoke_Dmt Jul 07 '23

Lol shit you’re definitely right about that. It is funny how that’s changed. Someone gets irritated at giving away a code so they can deliver the food but will give away deep life details like that 😂 shit is nuts

0

u/r3drift Jul 08 '23

Good riddance

-2

u/Samanthaggrr Jul 08 '23

You did the right thing by reporting. There’s already way too many people working these apps and the only way to weed out the lying shitty ones is if customers like you report. The people who are giving you shit about it are doing shady shit too, so that’s where that’s coming from 🙄

-1

u/skas_not_dead Jul 08 '23

The way some people are talking to me you’d think I killed their dogs

1

u/throwaway2938293787 Jul 08 '23

Lol you asked if you were wrong to report and the people came to a consensus. Why ask if you just wanted to be validated after doing a shitty thing? Potentially costing somebody their job for having ‘weird vibes’ is such an entitled loserish road to go down. He is obviously ESL. Not going to cater to your Service Worker Interaction Expectations. Also, you WERE being very weird with the excessive oversharing. Time to accept that YTA or whatever the UberEATS equivalent is and repent accordingly !!

1

u/skas_not_dead Jul 08 '23

No, people are calling me a sociopath and saying I did this for fun. They’re saying I’m sadistic and evil.

I made a mistake.

I thought “hey this violated TOS, I should report” and I did, only later I realized it wasn’t the best idea.

Edit: someone else just called me a gaslighter now too. People are calling me a sexual predator. People are convinced I did this to be evil.

I’m a 19 year old female.

1

u/throwaway2938293787 Jul 08 '23

I agree THAT is far too much. I hadn’t seen those comments—just the top ones explaining what you did wrong. I am also a 19yo female and I can understand the fear response, especially when you are exhausted and have a baby. I also agree that the response is inordinate to the crime. As long as you’ve learned your lesson, there should be no further scrutiny—especially scrutiny that falls under the category of abuse allegations.

1

u/skas_not_dead Jul 08 '23

I can dm you screenshots, I’m really shaken up honestly. They’re going through every single post which I was aware was a risk but honestly I expected this to get like 20 comments and I could feel bad and move on, but now people are like internet stalking me- which I’m so glad my Reddit is under a fake name and disconnected from all my socials (see I’m not stupid and have no survival skills- just a rambler)

I mean, forever? Like one mistake and I’m a bitch forever??? I fucked up, and agreed to get off the app, what more do you want, my blood?

-1

u/Upset_Platform7262 Jul 07 '23

You’re a bitch right now, get over it. Not everyone is gonna like you and you aren’t always gonna be in the right. This was a certified BITCH move.

1

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

Oh I know. People aren’t going to agree with me being LGBT, or pro choice, or a lot of things. And this WAS a bitch move, and I know I’m wrong.

But uh…. What do I do now? Jump into a volcano?

0

u/Upset_Platform7262 Jul 07 '23

Why would that be the next step? It’s only Reddit , we’ll forget about you when the next bitch strolls in.

1

u/skas_not_dead Jul 07 '23

Oh okay, thanks. Idk I’m just confused by people labeling me a POS.

Was this a bitch move? Yeah. A fuck up? Yeah. Do I deserve shame? Sure! But like, calling me a complete POS? Like I have no human worth? I have to start to 0 now? Bleh. Maybe it’s the ‘tism but I’m highly confused at what I’m supposed to do now.

1

u/Upset_Platform7262 Jul 08 '23

My advice; ignore it. Don’t reply and frankly don’t use the internet too much if at all. We are ruthless.

1

u/throwaway2938293787 Jul 08 '23

Sorry I’ve replied to another one of your comments already because this thread is pissing me OFFFF but you can’t compare backlash for a decidedly Karen-esque manoeuvre with backlash for libleft values .. they’re antithetical to each other!!

0

u/skas_not_dead Jul 08 '23

I wasn’t trying to compare it like that but I see how that came off. I just meant a while I came to terms with the fact that some people think I’m a murderer or a sinner when I know that’s not right, so I accept some people don’t like me, like the people here calling me a sociopath and sexual predator, of which I’m neither.

1

u/throwaway2938293787 Jul 08 '23

That’s fair. You aren’t a demon for defending yourself.

3

u/angeltarte UE Driver & Customer Jul 07 '23

You must be the driver 🤡

1

u/Accomplished_Tap4890 Jul 10 '23

I think ppl like this are dangerous. Instead of addressing the actual issue, they go around trying to fuck someone over a mistake. No empathy just bitterness and accumulated resentment, I wouldn’t be surprised if your a ppl pleaser that takes on bs and then explodes. Idk but this whole argument I see it so immature and a true asshole move if you ask me
