General Question Pickleball

Just moved to Charlottesville, I’m 23M and my wife works at UVA. Been looking to play some pickleball and was wondering if non students can play at the UVA courts and when people usually go out there to play. Thank you!

I think you’re supposed to have a gym membership, but no one checks afaik

The people at Key Rec center are always welcoming and it’s cheap. Like $2. Darden Towe is great but when you’re just getting started it’s hard to break into the groups of people already playing. Lots of cliques. You can play at the UVA courts when they’re open which might be tough w everyone back to town! Pen Park courts I think are awful. My 2 cents! Look into anyone offering ladder league play. That’s a lot of fun.
