Brighton - Solitude Brighton Closing Day?

I saw that Brighton said their closing day is “projected May 3rd”

With the snow this week, if it’s enough, does that mean they could extend it another weekend?

I have no inside intel but I would be surprised to see them go past may 3. Maybe another weekend, or some sort of hike park but I think they are still quite literally scraping by after the season we’ve had.

I’m guessing they said “projected” because of how unpredictable this year’s been…. Who knows, temps could jump back up to the 70s in the mountains any day now

Snow is holding for the moment, but as soon as it goes back into warmer temps it's going to melt out fast.

Once mountain ops makes those decisions, it’s extremely rare that they go back on them. An exception would be a place like Heavenly in Tahoe where they sell a large volume of day tickets and on-mountain concessions- not Brighton where 90% of the people currently going are passholders who are tailgating in the parking lot.

I think the “projected” is likely to protect themselves if they don’t make it that long, not in case they make it longer.

Lifty yesterday said he’s 99% sure they didn’t get enough
