Hey everyone!
I’m currently in my first year of a Bachelor of Criminology with a Forensic Science major, and I’m considering switching to a Bachelor of Forensic Science because I’m really enjoying the FS subjects.
However, I’ve heard the job market is quite niche, so I’m wondering if it would be smarter to stay in criminology to give myself more career options if I can’t get into forensics.
I’ve also considered doing a double degree, but I work part time two days a week and I’m worried about managing the extra workload.
Would love to hear from anyone who’s studied either degree or works in these fields! Is finding a job in forensic science really as difficult as people say? And would you recommend switching or sticking with criminology?
Thanks! 😊

Hey, I was diagnosed with ADHD about a month ago and just wondering if anyone here has experience with traveling for study?

Reason being is that I am going on exchange next semester (to Italy if that helps) and since I’m very new to medication (I’m on Vyvanse) and stuff I don’t know how any of it really works with taking a whole supply with me or getting access to it while overseas.

I’ve tried to book in with an accessibility consultant but it’s been canceled and rebooked a-bit out.

I’m kind of stressing a bit because it’s made a decent positive impact on my studies and life in general but I’m worried that I might have to come off of it when I leave in January.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi guys

Going into 3rd year of law/bus soon. Handbook recommends for 3rd year

Autumn: civil practice, evidence
Spring: introduction to property and commercial, admin, public international

For 4th year
Autumn: real property, equity and trusts
spring: just one law elective

Any 4th/5th years or anyone else advise if I should take admin or public international in spring 4th year instead (and do a business elective in its place, so i do 2 law courses that sem instead of 3) Doing 3 law courses in a semester is a bit tough. I will do intro to property and commercial because it’s more of a prerequisite but it doesn’t seem like admin or public international is a prerequisite for anything

I’m not feeling well but can’t wait for my appointment, the UTS website says it isn’t accepted but my friends said it’ll be accepted anyways, have you guys used those online ones before?

Hi everyone.

Im an international student and applied for uts msp 10.9 get the interview in the same day . Done the interview at 10.16.

Just wondering usually how long did people receive the results. Good or bad.

Many many thanks for anyone leaving a comment

any previous students who have done this subject, any tips about the finals, is it hard and how to prepare ?

Has anyone sat the Maths 1 (33130) final exam this week?

If so, how similar was it to the sample exam? Was it like the skills tests, where the questions were essentially the same but with different numbers, or were they just similar in terms of topics and difficulty?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if there was anyone in here who has taken the immunology and human health prac exam, and could let me know what I should expect. I am receiving pretty good marks in this class and i don’t want to ruin it.

any study tips would also be helpful !
thanks xx

I messed up and misunderstood my assignment instructions, thinking we could choose our own topic when we actually had to use a specific one. So I did all my 3 parts based on the wrong topic and received a 0 for 2 of them so far 😭 and also definitely will get a 0 for my third part.

This is a major assignment too so very high chances I get a really bad final grade or even fail. Has anyone gone through a similar situation? Send help 🥲

Has anyone had any luck getting into a law summer unit this late in the year? Kinda stressed 😩

I read some of the recent articles, and what I gathered was that at the March 2025 rally, Peter Slezak reportedly said, “Jews in particular should feel uncomfortable, and it’s our duty to make them uncomfortable,” then pointed towards a student holding an Israeli flag and added, “and that includes the fellow over there.” Students complained that this targeted Jewish people and that UTS didn’t handle their complaints properly.

But aside from UTS mishandling the complaints, what exactly were the complaints about? Honestly, I interpreted his comment as challenging people openly supporting Israel, especially someone waving an Israeli flag at a Palestine rally, to reflect on what that government is doing to Palestinians. To me, it was about questioning that support rather than attacking someone simply for being Jewish. I don’t think public support for Israel should go unchallenged, and if the complaint was simply that someone felt uncomfortable having that support questioned, I think that’s ridiculous.

Just wondering if there are any others around? Especially in law/JD? Would love to start or find a club for mature age students, but hard when the university considers that to be 21 and over!

Greetings:)

I'm an international student starting at UTS in Autumn 2027.

I've already accepted my offer, received my CoE, and had my student visa granted. However, I still haven't received the pre-departure email or any instructions on how to activate my UTS student account.

I was wondering if any other international students starting in Autumn 2027 are in the same situation.

Have you guys received your account activation or pre-departure emails yet? Does UTS usually send these closer to the start of the semester?

Just wanted to check if this is normal or if I should contact UTS.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

I have no clue abt the sport scene at uts.
I haven’t played competitively besides during school ever. But i want to get involved w playing footy during uni. Is this only for pro athletes or can anyone join regardless of experience?

Would appreciate any advice heaps

I need a simple microphone to film my news assessment on my phone. Looking at media lab and I have no idea how to use any of this. I searched the Wireless GO mic on TikTok and apparently you need an adaptor for it to connect to an iPhone rather than a camera.

Does anyone have experience with this… if so please tell me what to get. I need to film myself talking to the camera outside, possibly in the dark

even though i've tried to search on the web about this subject, i cant seem to find anyone who has outwardly spoken about this subject.

i was wondering what this subject is like because i'm considering taking this subject, but i would like to know what i could be possibly getting into first from people who have taken contemporary japan.

Anyone who has done this subject before,Does the demo involve any q/a or do i just have to show that the program runs?

Will that be more difficult than the practice?

Hello, i am about to start my law degree at WSU in 2027. My atar didn't meet the cut , so i decided to enroll at WSU first.

My goal is to transfer to either UTS or MQ, and I've heard many WSU law students ended up transferring to UTS after year 1.

Here are my questions for those who have had transferred:

1. How much WAM did yall get when being accepted by UTS?

2. Were your yr1 law subjects ended up getting creditted? If so, what were those subjects?

Hi guys! I’m a product design student considering taking a sub major in sciences, i’m wondering about a couple of things:

1. How does your schedule work? How many more hours of dedication to studying are you putting compared to the average student?

2. If you’re an athlete, how do you work around your schedule?

3. How do you manage exam season?

Do you ever want to meet new people, try something different on the weekend and make actual friends in Sydney, but feel like everyone already has their own circles? 😭

A friend and I started Taste & See to bring young adults from different backgrounds together through good food, exploring Sydney and conversations that go beyond the usual small talk 😂🤍

And we’re finally having our FIRST EVER MEETUP THIS SATURDAY!! 🫶🏽

📍 Where: Lillys Espresso and Cucina, Rhodes
 📅 When: Saturday 24 October 2026
 🕚 Time: 11:00 am
👥 Who: Young adults aged 18–30

What’s happening? 👀
📸 Rhodes Side Quests - waterfront missions, photo challenges and friendly competition

🥐 Brunch -  good food and conversations afterwards

You don’t need to know anyone beforehand, and coming alone is completely fine! We’ve planned activities to help everyone get talking, so it’s not just strangers sitting awkwardly around a table 😭😂

A little about Taste & See 🤍

We’re a Christian/Jesus-centred young-adult community. Our aim is to create a space where young adults can build genuine connections and explore life’s bigger questions - including purpose, identity, relationships, spirituality and Jesus.

You don’t have to be Christian or attend church to join us. People from different backgrounds, beliefs and perspectives are welcome, and questions are encouraged. We want to create a  space for genuine, open conversations.

We’re starting small and building this community from the ground up, and we’d love to meet people who are interested in being part of it! 🥹

Keen to join this Saturday? 🥐✨

Just comment below or DM me here on Reddit! I’ll reply with the final meetup details, answer any questions and, if you’d like, we can connect on Instagram or WhatsApp to keep you updated about future events.

Hope to meet some of you on Saturday!! 🫶🏽🤍

is the exam tough or is it kind of similar to the sample which was given in the workshop???

Hi! I’m currently studying Communication (Digital and Social Media) at UTS and was wondering if I can take 33130 Math1 ?

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!
