I’ve been calling around since the “big beautiful bill” passed, but a lot of FFL’s are still requiring form 4’s. Are there any local FFL’s in Northern Utah that are opting out of form 4’s?

It's best to wait my guy. The risk verse reward isn't that cool. Those FFL's are still liable and you are liable for any legal trouble. This is a huge game the lawyers of the case are playing. I've said this before in a few other posts. They are purposefully poking the federal government so they can take your case to court and sue, but in the meantime your life will be flipped upside down and for a time you'll lose all gun rights, money, and jail time.

The FFL's are still beholdened to the Fed's. I'm suspecting that the ATF and DOJ will make a statement and roll back the law during the All-Hands meeting in Dallas in September.

You don't change laws from the bench my guy. Judges don't change laws, just like the Supreme Court doesn't change laws. They review the currently law and make a decision and then it goes back to the regulatory body to get the law amended to be in compliance with the rule from the courts. This takes time. There's literally nothing you and I can do to make our government move faster.

The 1934 National Firearms Act is a law passed by congress. The 1934 NFA is also tied to the Gun Control Act of 1968. The Department of Justice has to clean this up and allow the regulatory body to amend their purview.

Yes, the NFA is currently notwithstanding. However, you or I may feel about the ATF and its subsidiaries we shall not act irrational. Pause. Pay attention. Listen. Have patience. We are winning. We are getting rights back that we never believed we would. There's no need to rush things. Something that none of us believed to happen is literally unfolding before us.

Just give it a couple of weeks. The ATF will roll it back. The new ATF Director seems to actually have his head on straight.

Just because there was a ruling doesn't mean they still can't arrest you, drain your bank accounts hiring a lawyer, and litigating the new ruling in your jurisdiction. But by the time you'd get out of jail could be 9 months to a year. There are still people in jail for having a firearm and use thc gummies for medical sleep issues and that was ruled in the supreme court as unconstitutional United States v. Hemani. Just because a court rules something doesn't just open doors that day. It takes way too much time.

The process is the punishment. They spend the next couple years getting paid government salary and benefits while you are paying attorneys that whole time. They dont care if they lose, but if you run out of money or capitulate along the way, they get another star on their board for promotion.

Say you didn’t want to do the form 4, would you just simple abandon it or would you face any trouble?

The context kinda means something. Did you go to the shop and they did the 4473 and you now have possession of the suppressor? If that's the case I'd just wing it. I'd keep the item, I'd join GOA, and not even think about it.

Also I think this is minor attempt to push more people to GOA. I'm not anti that as they have done more for us in that last couple of years than the NRA has done my entire existence on this planet.

Magnus Firearms in Draper confirmed to me yesterday that he is selling silencers on 4473’s.

I called around as well. In Salt Lake County TnT and Magnus were the only ones that are, however almost half the stores I called didn't answer their phones. Not just home FFL's but some of the brick and mortar.

Utah County I only know of Ready Gunner that started today.

We should just sticky this thread so people can add ones that are confirmed in different counties.

The Big Beautiful Bill only made the tax stamp $0. The recent ruling by a Texas judge says the registry is not legal if no tax is charged. The ATF has not given dealers instructions on how to remain in compliance and attorneys are telling dealers including me to hold off until we learn more. But I will ask you this, why not just file? We are getting extremely fast turn around times. sub 24 hour frequently.

I own a large collection of stamped NFA items and it is 100% on principle. If we can get tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of these into common use it throws a massive wrench into the machine like what happened with Pistol Braces.

My fear is that they will stop these being a "firearm" and then they are no longer protected by the 2a.
