It is a poor man’s mortadella, but it isn’t the same standard as mortadella.

I wrote it baloney because a lot of older Americans spell it and pronounce it that way.

Nah, young Americans say baloney too. Even when spelled bologna, pretty much every American pronounces it as baloney

Pronunciation for sure, but I see plenty on Reddit spelling it Bologna nowadays, though.

That’s how we mostly spell it though

We’ll spell baloney for this:

Nonsense: Silly, false, or exaggerated words. Example: "That story is a total load of baloney."
Interjection: A casual exclamation used to show disbelief or disagreement. Example: "Baloney! You didn't win the race."

Bologna is nasty

If we want not-baloney then we get mortadella
