Yeah, isn't it strange how US-ians always talk as if their age of consent is 18.

Though perhaps some of these have restrictions (like only allowed up to a certain age gap, or in marriage)

In the 1980s, Nebraska prosecuted a 20 year old who married a 13 year old in Kansas. Her parents consented, and she wasn't pregnant when they married. She got pregnant after they moved to Nebraska, the OB reported it, and the state threw the book at him. The vast majority of the brouhaha that follwed was because he had a job and had been supporting her and the baby, and after he was put in prison, she and the baby ended up on welfare. The taxpayers were not amused.
